    Retirement
I have missed you all. I am out of retirement. Although at 65 I can have my personal pension this year, but not until next year, my state one. Retiring is really not for me. I am a lesser person than I used to be before the fire, but with my friends here, and those who have helped me since in my current work. Actually at the time, possibly the only job I could so at the time with help and support. Mostly, I am back on form again.
Having seen the progress of the hype for EV and promotions to go electric and AI etc I am Back, like it or not.
I have seen the many promotions from TomTom and others. Indeed many are a lot better now than in the past, well I hope so.
I bought a GO Superior as it suited my needs, I have moved back to an older phone I had features I used that the new 5G one does not have.
Although I do not travel as much now, I still go to work and the traffic is worse than ever, but this new unit in 2 days is already proving to be a great idea
There are downsides in that after a year are subscriptions for some things. But map updates and routes are not. OK fuel and speedcams will be. Big deal LOL
One day, someone might make things work perfectly before release. Sadly not in my or your lifetime. At least by finding problems and sorting them, we are still alive.

Having seen numerous videos on uTube comparing to pros and cons of the numerous GPS units. Point me to one better for routes than TomTom. NONE, they talk of ease to use, maps, routes etc and other stuff. Non, mention the fact, that routes and changes. That really is where TomTom succeeds over all others. For me, that is the most important part. Try Google Maps and others. They are not ever close.
With my GO it remembers when I go a different route other than planned, and if better, knows. That is new thing, because I know a few ways to do things, dependant on time. It has learnt this already. I have only had this since yesterday, and it knew from yesterday and planned accordingly today. Previous units or my Audi do not
. Actually I hate Audi planning

If EVs are so great, how come Tesla, have to recall over 2 million of their cars as auto pilot does not work? We should ask the Governments why they promote EV without proper infrastructure but drive cars that are not electric. could have global meetings without flying to places? They want us off the roads, and only the rich can afford to drive. Think about it.0

I support TomTom 100% are the best. We have had disagreements over the years. Sorted. they are the best, actually by a LONG way

The Richest 1% want us off the earth not just the roads.....

EVs are a massive scam. There are not enough natural resources to make the batteries to relace even 1/2 of the Fossil Fuelled Powered cars that exist today.

Tomtom Routing and GPS Units are the best I agree, but Tomtom as a company is the WORST.

My days was via Psion5 and was street maps and city maps. Iused it via a plug in Gamin. The MD moved to TomTom. I bought my first TomTom in 2003 at the company I worked at the following 13 years. We tested and tried many different GPS and along with an Italian friend, did a bit of changes to the TomTom as was easy to enter the coding. The voice of road names etc were terrible, so I spent time correcting them (no Welsh). As the company was large, I had direct peeps to call, but they would call me. remember fuel prices and when speedcams would not work. Quest who sorted those out. sadly the fuel prices would not work, as was terrible data then, bust having the new unit, I know it does work well and changes, as I saw yesterday, and today there were some changes from previous day.
I do agree that their customer care and help is poor, actually terrible. I have no shares in TomTom. I do not regret that.
From my side, when they had to alter the software because of a law suit, I could not really help as my back doors closed. Glad Mater121 can. I is certainly better than GPS in my car with routes.
I used to get units to test, so new cost me anything until a couple of years before I left the company, so have bought since, unless someone sells ad item of interest that they cannot use. This new unit, I bought really to see if it was better than anything else on the market. I bought from TT direct, but I was testing others that a company had bought, and my fee covered the cost LOL

Actually some know me from before this forum and we almost started together. I have not been on the other sites since. I have a tendency to cheese some off. I did not mine other forums using data I put here on their forums, but I do object then they make out it is from them

    Default TomTom in General

I may be in the wrong post. I am sure the mods will more it accordingly.
All I want to say is seasonal greetings to all friend here. But also say, having bout the 7" Go Superior recently, it has to be my best Present I have given myself. It is really great. I can forget the Sat Nav in my Audi S3. though the maps are better, the routes, petrol prices etc are perfect than on many apps. It seems a lot more live too. I miss my S4 though 2015, would and do prefer the S4 over current new S3. Audi thought I was joking, but I am not. Though I am in Bolton, and know here, I know more in Sheffield, but they know me more in Romania. Both cars a not mapped, though the S4 had some legal things changed, not to alter legal or spec......The S4 did not have turbo, the S3 does. I see that as not a good thing. Also my traffic has changed from a lot to just commute. So very different. 86K miles in 6 months to about 5 or 10k max. I have never had problems with Audi, but I change oil every 5K miles. .
I do not need to, but it is my car,
It is highly unlikely I would ever buy an EV car.
I have a lot more to text, but better in correct place Admins
