    Default About Europe map

I have a GO950 and I use its maps from the internal 4 Gb memory and also from the microsd. Specifically, before, in the internal memory it had the Europe and Iberia maps. What happens is that these maps, as the version progresses, tend to increase in weight. In fact, the last version of Europe that fits with that of Iberia is 1000.8641. From there, there has no longer been space for both of them, in fact the last Europe 1060.10556 no longer fits in the internal memory, not even by himself, because he needs 4067 Mb free, he stops alone.
    The question is:
Should I definitely give up having the Europe map in the internal memory or is there some way to do it?
Am I forced to just put it on the microSD card and use it, from there?
On the microsSD card, I also have the Europe Truck, which I use for the motorhome, but I also have a car. In the case of using the car in Europe, is it indifferent to use the Europe or the Europe Truck, configured for the car, or, on the other hand, is there any advantage to use the standard Europe, when I drive the car?

In other words, what is better to drive a car in Europe, the Europe or the Europe Truck configured for car?
Thank you and I send you greetings.

I think there is no advantage in using Europe above Europe-Truck in car mode.
You can always use a bigger micro sdcard (16 Gb) and put them both on it.
Than you can choose what you want to use.

As Peter has said above, just buy a larger MicroSD card & run the Europe map(s) from that as these maps are getting too big for internal memories now (more countries/roads/details etc etc)

Remember with your 950 you only need the map folder itself & a copy of your ttgo.bif on the card, everything else can stay internal

In principle, I preferred to put the maps in the internal memory, in case the navigator worked more easily and, therefore, faster than accessing the card, but now it is impossible. In fact, of the map of Iberia, which is much smaller and it does fit, I have a copy in the internal memory, which I imagine will work better than the copy, of the same map, that I have on the SD card.

I'd be very surprised if it really did run more slowly using an SD card unless perhaps it's a real cheap low-class (2 or 4, 2MB/s or 4MB/s) card. Class 10 is the preferred rating

Although my GO 950 also has that 4GB of internal memory, I don't use a single bit of it yet.
Everything is on my SDHC 32GB Class 10 card
For use with a truck or motorhome it is very easy to switch if you are going to use 2 SDHC cards, nothing to do with them and sliding parts again. or get in each other's way, by switching cards you can easily put 2 different devices in 1

I believe that the routes marked by the Europe_truck map versus the Europe map are slightly different.
I think the Europe_truck map tends to create ring road routes to a greater extent than the Europe map.

In your case, what would you do:

    • Map of Iberia in internal memory with navcore 9541
    • Map of Europe in a microSD (Card_1) with navcore 9541 installed on the card.
    • Map of Europe_truck on a microSD (Card_2) with navcore 9702 installed on the card.

    Operation:

    • You drive your car in Spain with the GPS without cards.
    • Option, if your internal memory crashes you can insert Card_1 to start the gps so that it starts from the navcore of Card_1 with the Europe map.
    • You drive your car through Europe you use the gps from Card_1.
    • Option, if Card_1 crashes you can change to Card_2 by selecting car profile.
    • You drive your motor_home you use the gps from Card_2.
    • Option, if your Card_2 breaks you use Card_1 without truck options but at least you have routes.

    Important:

Remember that if your card has navcore and map, when you insert it, your gps must be off, when booting with the card installed it starts from the card.
Never select the map from internal memory after booting from the card, it will erase your mapsettigs with favorites, frequent destinations and speed cameras settings.

If you insert the card with the GPS on, it operates as a storage expansion but if you select the map of the card, the same thing happens as in the previous case, goodbye to your mapsettings.

That is why it is important that if there are several navcore always use the map corresponding to the navcore.
