    Default Rebooting issue Go 940

    Help required please?
I have a Go 940 that keeps rebooting every couple of minutes. It does this on the desktop dock, car dock and when running just on the battery.
Here's what I have tried so far after making a backup copy of the internal storage.
Using Tomtom home, reinstalled the official navcore on the device from Tomtom. Removed everything from the internal drive and pc to make sure it uses a fresh download from Tomtom, and installed all the recommended updates from them.
Tried using a different micro SD card just in case it decided it didn't like the one that was in, and using the device without a SD card at all using just internal storage. Also checked the internal drive for errors using windows which reports no errors found.
Done the factory reset several times from the device. Also tried the drum roll thing of holding the power button down.

It still keeps rebooting though every couple of minutes.
While the device is connected to the PC, it stays on, but then the problem resumes when it is disconnected.

It may be as simple as running clearflash.exe from here

or if you've recently updated your map try deleting (after saving) your mapsettings.cfg file and/or the speedcams?

or just that your battery's just not holding sufficient charge?

Battery holds charge as it will merrily keep rebooting itself for over half an hour. It also keeps rebooting when connected to the power supply as well. Ran clearflash 3 times, no speedcams and deleted the mapsettings.cfg. Still rebooting itself.

Remove any map to a safe place and try to run only the navcore.
Than your system must end with no map found and now you're sure something is wrong with the map.

Give an alternative map download a chance. In these cases the TTActivator is highly recommended to get an origin map (without unintended saving/packing errors or manipulations with pois etc.)

Thanks for the suggestions. It does seem to be an issue with the maps. If I remove the map completely I get as far as the map not found message and the device stays on. However as soon as I put any map on the device it goes back into rebooting.
I have tried using the original Europe 925.5412 that was on the device, and a fresh downloads of UK 1045_1001 and 1045_10024 .
I get the same rebooting using both the original navcore 9.541 that was on the device, and running the updated version from TT.
Same thing happens using 9.702 navcore with Truck 1045_10024.
Using the same truck and UK maps on a GO930 model I have work perfectly well which presumably rules out the maps being corrupted.
Also tried clearing all the software and starting from fresh including generating a new ttgo.bif with each map and navcore

Next simple question, what do you want to use your TomTom for?Should it be a truck version or for normal use?
What I can offer you is making a working SDHC card with any map you like here on my GO 950 with my own ttgo.bif file.
If that works here and you send me your ttgo.bif file then I can provide the working card here with the just patch and put it all on my own server and send you a private link to get it.
Interested send me a PM, please.
