Good morning Peter,
these were the steps i took: after TTHome offered me NC 7.522, i could start up the device, no red cross but "no map found". So i decided to download NC 9.541c (your tip in posts 12 + 16), installed it and voila, everything was ok. So i think that the previous installed patched version has caused the problem, maybe some damaged files.
Anyway, all is working fine now and again thanks for your useful help.

It seems to me excessive one NavCore 9 for a GPS "RC", I advise one NavCore 8562 with the pack of the master Treysis and sucide.dat file, all this assuming you have a map available of interest to NavCore 8.
