    The truth is that I used the navcore 8,398 - truck, with truck maps compatible with the navcore 8 ... This happened when I upgraded to Navcore 9,700. because the new maps were no longer compatible with NC 8 ... 2012 year I think. returning to 8.351 / 8.398 the problem disappeared. I changed the screens from one go730 to another, and with another screen it worked fine. then I replaced the touch screen ... I have updated other GOx30 devices ... x20, which did not have this problem

    May be that I was just lucky. I only can say that I have been using the Truck-NC 9.702 since years without any problems on a Go 920 (NC on memory card because the high memory load of the Truck-NC). Since this year the SE version of @Charlie62, which offers at least 24 MB of free RAM (very recommend!). My Go 730 is happy since years with a NC9.510.

    I used 9.026 on my Go910 in X40 mode with a Navcore that supported the latest maps.
    Unfortunately my device has expired, is no more so I can't give any more info other than it worked fine.

    Why "has worked fine"? All EOL x10-devices - so also your Go910 - and all other with Sirf Star III are running well after April 2019. Prerequisite is a GPS chip firmware update to GSW3.2.5

    Unused and unwantet isn't a problem of EOL or WNRO . Do the needed things and your Go910 will works fine - today and in future.

    The last time I used it, some three years ago, it worked fine. It was left the shelf because it was no longer used, I only powered it up to check the Navcore version, then it went into the small electrical recycling bin. I'm grateful for the reminder to clear the shelf.

    Hamish, I think Alfred_ML means that if you are discarding your Go 910 because it's broken then that's fine...

    but if you're discarding it just because TomTom regard it to have reached it's End of Life (EOL) then that's a shame because all of the things you need to update it and use it again are freely available here

    Just update it then tuck it away as it will (in the future) prove more reliable than many of the newer models (and at least it uses a REAL loudspeaker!
