    Help GO 730 problems

Just a brief intro. I am interested in fixing a GO 730 (I have 2 of the same) which encountered some corruption but still connects except with the Malformed Error. So I need to recover the device back to normal. I have all the original software as well as lots of prior backups all of the same model. Presently getting the connection error in Home and the No Maps Found error. I need to recover, reformat or whatever. I have lots of questions about the device and how to proceed in here, so let me know some heads ups to get going in the right direction. Thanks in advance. I will post all my details if I get a reply.

Thanks for the reply Rusigor. As you may have noted I mentioned that I am getting a connection error in TTHome, so updating in there is not happening. Seems to me this forum of gurus might have seen this problem a time or two so how did it get solved? It has to do with a server error, so is it with my device or does TomTom have something based upon my IP address, my device ID, my Login, my account history with them? Can I eliminate this error by using another PC, by changing the IP address, or by something with my device such as reformatting, which I already did, copying everything and formatting with Fat32? Then I mentioned the No Maps Found error which, I think, also needs to go away for the device to boot into a map. The No Maps Found error is also common so hopefully there is an answer in this forum. If I search for "No Maps Found" the search engine doesn't take it. So I need a heads up as to where to search to solve these problems. I also see that the ttgo.bif file is Serial number specific. Do you know which other ones are also either in "INTERNAL" or "Storage" areas of the device? Thanks for your help in advance.

Some of this has already been answered on the other forum you posted the same question...but you haven't replied to that one

You're getting an error on TTHome because TomTom has decided that your Go 730 has reached it's 'End of life' and is now no longer supported by them. Changing PC's / IP addresses / formatting etc etc will not change that fact. So now you should forget about TTHome because it is of no use to you any more, everything you could possibly want is freely available on the two forums you've been posting on.

Secondly, you haven't mentioned on this forum that the map you're trying to activate is North_America_2GB 1030.9510. This particular map doesn't have a meta code available therefore it can't be activated. Only maps that have a meta code released on

can be activated. This is the reason you're getting the 'No maps found' error.

You've been given some links on both forums to do some reading...you need to follow their advice

Well I must be reading and following since I did address the concerns you mentioned and the device lives again. Many thanks for the explanation of the connection/ update error. So can items be added to the device by loading them to the backup folder? I was wondering if using MyDrive Connect would solve the update error. I did use it and added my device, but saw some posting that it shouldn't be used for some older models. Thanks for the help.

Forget using TTHome as that NAV2 device is no longer supported AND ignore MyDrive as that's only for the newer NAV3/4/5 devices

Using a larger SD card, just copy across your ttgo.bif file from internal memory/back=up etc then you can add all/any map (we have a meta for) on the card.

EOL x20/30 devices should still get the current NC 9.541 if they are connected to TT-Home (back up everything with a file manager, not TT-Home! And just leave only the ttgo.bif on the device).
These NC 9.541 is needed at least for a correct running of the Go 730 after April 07. Even better would be flashing the GPS firmware to GSW3.2.5...

Just a FYI, seems that one of my 730's connects to home just fine and yesterday I was even offered a brandy new USA map, installed and done. Don't know what is the difference except I use different logins for each device. Happy one is still working in TTHome.

Is the "brand new USA map" one that we already have the meta(s) for cos if not, please create/share with us?
You're right using different logins as each device needs to be registered separately with a different login for each.

It could also be that TTHome offered him his last bought US map.
I had the same with my 950 Live when I downloaded the new 9.541 navcore, they offered me my old Europe map (945) which was not on the device anymore.
