    Help Trying to install USA maps on old XXL IQ Routes

    Hi!

    I have a XXL IQ routes that turns to be out of support, i am going to USA this summer and want to change my european maps with a US map.
    What US Map version is compatible with this device? i upgraded everything that was possible with tomtom home yesterday.

    i tried 1020_9245 map, and it seems to activate, but the device says that it can not use this map.

    If i have to do any manual patching other than what i got using TomTom home, the answer is no.
    I guess navcore is the operating system on the device?
    If it is required to use any custom/modified Navcore or patch one or more file(s) i have not done that.

    My device is One XXL IQ Routes edition with (from ttgo.bif file) Bootloader 55279, Applicationversionversionnumber 9541 and applicationversion 3145439.2, GPSfirmwareversion 2.16.201.354431 if that give you anything ;-)

    The map activation process looked that it went ok, and the meta was accepted/file created. But when starting the device, the map name shows up and "select map" displays, but the device says that it can not use the map.
    Maybe the map is to new for the device or not compatible with my device?

    I think and I'm more sure, you'll need to patch your Navcore too
    Sure it's your operating system, beside the Bootloader which is like your BIOS in your computer

    It is certainly not device bound
    You can use Fastactivate or A_F_Activate for the patch

    Thanks mate! Patching navcore fixed it :-)
    I found out before i see your latest post. i used fastactivate and patched navcore, restarted the device and voilla!

    So now, can i try to connect to tomtome home to get map corrections (the free ones)? or will this destroy anything?

    Thanks again! You saved me from buying a new GPS with foreign (US) Maps for the holiday.
    Here at home i have in-car builtin navi, so i normaly dont use this device.

    That's no identification of a concrete map. There are many of "1020_9245" and not all of them are activatable.
    If your XXL has only 2 GB of memory, you can use this map without any manipulation: United_States_1020_9276.
    United_States_2GB_1020_9245 is to big. You have to delete all cspeech_*.dat files and the cphoneme.dat first (voice control files not supported by your device) and even then this card is still 1,70 GB (1.834.447.636 Bytes) in size.

    Thanks to both of you, i have USA south West 1020_9245, all i need is there (CA, Arizona, Nevada).
    Tried even to use Poi for several of the booked hotels, and itīs all there

    Regarding Patching TomTom Home, i had not- but did it now, have to copy a dll to tthome profile under %appdata% because i have Windows 10.
    I give TThome and Map updates (corrections) a try now :-)

    Edit: TThome patched an it works as a sharm! i got map corrections and new GPSfix!
