Hi will try now and test and report back i did rename chk just forgot to put info in post
I wrote "every ... days" and not "every day". Or do you want to deny that the GpsFix is only good for a week at most?
But why simple, if you can get it complicated. You seem to like to poke around in small holes ;).
Just leave it to the truck NC users for which variant they want to decide. With PC or smartphone and TT server access or without any high-tech frills ...
PLEASE STOP THIS BICKERING!
Sometimes details are "lost in translation" or misunderstood so let's play nicely please.
You guys are doing a fantastic job at basically unravelling TT's total mismanagement to this problem so let's just keep working TOGETHER!
thankyou:co:
It seems like suicide.dat is not necessary with SiRFstarIII on NC 9.541. I am not sure why exactly. I was trying to replicate that behavior on an older NC, but without success so far.
This table is for good purpose, I expose it after testing my devices with different navcores.
The only intention is to limit the incidents understanding that it can help to solve the non-obtaining of the date and time and at the same time take into account that there are as many devices as serial and there may be deviations that it is necessary to comment.
I understand that it is possible that there are different practical considerations and that after being thoroughly tested they become solid recommendations and this is what you have to share.
My motivation has been to prove the goodness of the pack of treysis with the most used navcores, making various stop-start and as you will understand I have not had time to test them more thoroughly, but in principle if they give date and time well.
Given the evolution of the possible solutions I can not but congratulate all the enthusiasts and encourage them to adjust more if possible the solutions and continue making enriching comments until the total solution.
It is also clear who are the first swords to which we must thank their help at all times which says a lot about their ability and as people.
Works in those mentioned in 8.562 and it is to be assumed in all
Regards
This table is for the HOUR (Sirf III no problem with HOUR apply suicide.dat x20 x30 for satelits problem)

The reset allows truck NC users to update the position of satellites "without any high-tech frills", just like "suicide.dat", but only when necessary, and not systematically and unnecessarily with each GPS start.
The variants for truck NC users are therefore: "suicide.dat" several times a day or update via a PC or a smartphone or a... simple paperclip or toothpick only when necessary. But why simple, if you can get it complicated :-).
That's right. But if you use a Go x20/30/7000 with NC 9.702 like @Lum4n4r3 (#393), you only have (at the moment) the standalone option "suicide.dat" or making a Gps Fix every week with additional equipment (computer or suitable smartphone with internet connection).
And of course we can resort to the reset hole, if we know what we have to do. But not everyone has computer or suitable smartphone with the needed software and internet connection in the car, any more than paper clips or toothpicks...
That's why we should leave it to the users, which option is more practical for them.
Anybody ever tried just using the Truck-PNDNavigator on a 9.541? Could that work?
And for clarification once more (sorry): does 9.541 still need suicide.dat?
No you don't need suicide.dat with 9541
