    Default Time sync issue

I have a Go 720, which I've updated to NavCore 9.051 and now thanks to this site I have the latest 1020 UK map. However, when I sync the time to GPS time, it doesn't set the correct time. It's a UK device, I'm in the UK, it shows the correct UTC time from the GPS when I'm in the GPS Status screen, but when I click "sync", it's the wrong time. I tried it just now, the UTC time was 12:36, but it sets my device time to 13:36.

Is there something I can change? I've had a run through the settings screens but can't find a time zone, though part of me would think it would figure out what time zone I'm in, as I have a decent GPS fix. It knows I'm not in Summer Time from the date. I had a look in "ttgo.bif" in case there was a time zone, but there isn't. I'm sure last time I tried this (on 1015 maps) it was about 7 hours out, rather than just one. I'm sure it didn't do this on earlier maps, but not totally certain.

    Any ideas?

For me it's the only easy solution, set the right time yourself, problem solved.

A fair point, it just seems a little strange. In any case it turns out that I can put a much later Navcore on it (I was thinking that when people write 9.510, it's a typo for 9.051...) so I've downloaded the updater to see if that makes any difference.

I'm using already a long time 9.510 and I'm quite satisfied with it, but have to set the clock by hand via the menu

It's not a big thing. I'll do the update anyway as it might do something better than the 9.051 I have now. I'm still running on an old battery that forgets everything after a very short time, still haven't got around to replacing it, so it needs setting more often for me.

They cost nearly around € 10
I'm not sure if the 720 have a reset button ?
If so and when you won't use it in a very shortl time, switch the device off using that reset button.
Switching off with the normal button, a small part is still consuming some power despite it's switcehd off, because your device will wake up as soon the power is back.

I did have a look at that thread, wasn't too clear about whether it would help or not, but I'll have another look, thanks.

@pe1agp, yes, it does have a reset button. I am not surprised it leaves stuff running when "off", though it's usually dead enough after a day or two that the next power-up has the appearance of a cold boot, location set back to London. I will get around to a new battery, sometime.

I'll try a Navcore update to one of these newer versions and see what happens. I was looking for a spare SD card to put it on rather than using the one in the machine now (the internal memory gave up, and searching for a solution is what led me, indirectly, to this site), but none of my local second-hand shops have anything as small as a 2Gb card, much less the 512Mb that is all that I need.

What the aim looking for 2GB SD-card? Update your bootloader to recommended 5.5279 - and use any SD up to 32GB.

Yes, fair point, just seems wasteful to stick a 4Gb+ card in there with a map of around 500Mb. I do recall reading something about different bootloaders for SDHC support, but I've never (knowingly) updated mine as there was no need.
