SD with custom CID - Discussion about buying

I have an old Samsung sd card that i can change CID. I did that but maps not work in my car Carminat Live 9.884. What should i do to make it work?

@vaidasbar, Samsung cards do not work with Carminat Live. In addition to the variable CID, you need a special SD card controller.

What is the controler and how to get it?

samsung sd works on many radio system , every samsung sd with changable cid can works on realy many many car radio
but in Carminat Live Radio any Samsung SD can NOT works ! ...that is sure samsung sd no works on Carminat Live !!!
only china SD can works !
You can buy it on ebay , but look tomtom price ..i think an original sd is the best ..no china fake sd that will stop works after 6 mounts

So there is no other cheaper way to update maps by myself?

You can update your original card with tomtom-home , it's around 69 euro for 1 year free update .. 4 maps in a year
or you can buy original card from tomtom site
or you can buy an sd from ebay ... ceep but bad quality !

Bad news. I put so much effort to change CID and succseeded, but it was worthless..

it was useless for Carminat Live, but it can be useful for many other systems.
unfortunately the samsung sds on Carminat Live do not work, but now that you have learned to use Ubuntu to change the cid you can update other cars and do a friend a favor, bye
