And where is the screenshot? I've never seen this option in a 9.701/9.702. Only "avoid unpaved roads" etc.
    Or do you mean this:

However, this option can only be selected if TMC has detected a roadblock.

On newer versions you can avoid blocked roads, find alternative, avoid part of route and add stop to route, add to my routes, change route type and play route preview. Blocked roads can happen quite fast. Only on Sunday I was driving back and there was an incidence and police closed a major road on the route, my TT knew how to change route, before was a jam. I could see a truck on its side as I did the detour. A few mins later, the car NAV said there was a jam on the road. A bit late as big deal I would have been stuck in it without the TT. Incidentally the TMC was from BBC Radio Manchester so very local

Sure, but we're telling about a TomTom ONE with manufacturer-NC7. Therefore, I doubt the "red closed"-sign, described in #1. Should something like this have once existed in an ancient NC7?

Don't know if this information will help anyone :-

My experience of 8.XXX & 9.XXX Navcores is slightly different to Alfred's.

The "Avoid roadblock" icon is greyed in two situations.
    1. When no route is planned.
    2. When I'm not on a planned route.

The "Minimise delays" icon is greyed in two situations.
    1. When RDS-TMC is not connected.
    2. When RDS-TMC is connected and I'm not on a planned route.

No 13E I think you have totally valid points> You would not expect to see avoid roadblocks when no route planned or not even on a route. There would be no point in showing them. One the second point, you could hardly minimise delays when RDSTMC is not connected as there is nothing to check and when connected, but not on a route, it would be irrelevant anyway. If you were connected to MyDrive/ Or TT Home Route Planner, you would see these things, however not on a unit. In a way it is like speed cams, only show when on a route and in that direction. Why show more than is needed? Even think about parking places. So are only on one side of the road. There is no point in showing those on the other side if no access.

@Alfred comment, Mate, things progress. Does MS support Win 7,8, Vista etc anymore? Navigation progresses too, and the old stuff stops being supported. When did you last see a typewriter being used? NO need to answer that. I still use a pencil and paper, but it is a point.

I am a lot older than some of you guys, but I can navigate north and south with my watch, navigate on a ship with the sun and stars, but I prefer easy life with TT Units

What you all really do need to understand when you buy a TT is how much you can afford, when you need it to do, and for what purpose. The units come in several sizes of screens, offer things you may want or not etc. The end of the day, you may only need to get from A to B

    Nothing more

So then ask yourself, why there are more expensive units on the market? Do you really need them? Is an at least sufficient for your needs? Do you really need a Sat Nav?

So if you only ever travel in your own country, why are you looking for other countries? Do you need routes and speed cams? Why buy a smartphone if you only ever need to make phone calls?

Is it a BEAT the Jones thing?

I drive across the whole of Europe. Do I need WiFi? Not really, but it is handy. Do I need all the maps. Not really, but for the cost of an SDCard why not?
Do I need upto date traffic- YES> pROPER ROUTES yes. Do I need 5" or 6". 5" is fine........I do use a Screen Guard to eliminate screen showing on the windscreen. That actually is a must, and very cheap. Worth every bit for sun and night time use. To save time, I have superglued it to the screen. Easily found on eBay. Was one of my better investments

Tell it not me, tell it to #1 He - not i - has this ominous NC7 with this strange sign, which we still have not seen by a screenshot.
@TomTom13E: Of course, a route must be planned and used in order to use these functions. And also a TMC connected. Otherwise the TT would need a magic sphere to detect a roadblock or traffic jam.

LOL, we are sometimes too sensitive. Chill dude, I take the piss mostly... It is more fun than being serious. They want for free that really is pretty cheap really, but too stupid to look for themselves, when can get pretty cheap anyway. Just too lazy to look and expect us to hold their hands....Yes I take the piss most of the time. I had to learn to read and write and count from 2015 from scratch in several languages

    GO910, App 9.026, Boot 5.5229, Antenna 4V00.003, latest one, mctx.dat the 44b version.
In UK I rarely get a good TMC connection from Classic FM, the default (it's OK in western Europe).
From (unreliable) memory, I can only specify a frequency not a station - do all local BBC radio broadcast TMC?

Yes the BBC do on all stations which have RDS on FM and DAB. Most cars git it via the radio, but it is not live. Google and TomTom receive live and it is available on live units. However, the TT Antenna used on older units not Live, only receive the information from local radio stations, which you would get from your car anyway. The antenna, the first one was poor, but the second version was a lot better, but did need to be set in a really good position

Hope that helps... One thing that is a real plus for TT is the fact that live units are really live and gets a lot of info from vodafone cells, so can see when vehicles are slowing down or stopped. This is something most other car manufacturers do not have in their SatNavs
