Dear Friends,
I am happy to report that I was able to successfully install and run the May 2015 India maps on my XL 335 :-) Thankfully my device was already running NC 9510. So the process was quite uncomplicated. Thank you for all your help.
I have, though, bumped into a problem with the 995 New Zealand maps. Again - I have searched a lot before posting this :-) I was not sure where to ask this question, so thought would use my own thread!
I am getting a .dct file error. Now I know this happens when the meta is not working. But I have double checked the meta and I have twice downloaded the map from two different sources. The same error with Fast Activator (yes, I am modifying the meta text file with the new meta information).
This is the meta I am using: New_Zealand v995.8513
43 BC 37 8F CA 24 5F E2 8D 34 FD 8B 24 CE 02 53 New_Zealand-101262.meta
This is the map I am downloading:
Can I please request for some help, here? Much obliged :-)
There is nothing wrong with the meta for New Zealand 995.8513
If you modify a text file with a new meta, you should rename it META.txt as per FA's instructions...even better, download the latest version of FA that is dated 23-08-2017 and the NZ map will activate
Never mind that - all works well now! I created the Meta.txt file as you suggested and all good now! Yaaaay! Thanks a million for this :-) Very very happy camper now! Now off I go to get a GPS signal! Woohoo!
Thanks, @biggerdave. That was the first thing I tried. But the 'update' option only gave me the 990 meta values. Could I be doing somthing wrong?
PS: I saw from the 'help' section in Fastactivator that you wrote the text file - thank you for your service to the community :-)
I've just tried it & seems fine to me.
Maybe it's not that clear but:-
Option #1 Update meta.txt needs to see/have access to your device or SD card, not just your PC
Option #10 downloads the latest F/A.exe version including the latest inbuilt Integrated meta.txt
Let me rapidly try that again and report.
That 'downloading' window has been running for over 3 minutes now. My internet connection is all good. Could something be wrong?
