As it has now been almost two years since you used this service, the connectivity for LIVE Services will be disconnected permanently. This will happen on 24 May 2017.

Your device will continue working as before and bring you safely to your destinations.

I really relie on live services on my GO5200, and it is really great. It is possibly the main reason I have stuck with TT for so long. Compaired to the one in my Aui which is crap. The TT is awesome and I use it all the time. Since I bought mine because it was live map updates for life and traffic and speedcams. If they suddenly withdraw this feature, I will be horrified. If enough complain, I would seriously think about legal action.

By the way, India is now downloadable. I got it yesterday
One day, someone might make things work perfectly before release. Sadly not in my or your lifetime. At least by finding problems and sorting them, we are still alive.

1000 times agree with the Maverick, I myself bought the GO 6200, the top of the top TomTom
I always use Carminat, but only for the exact position of the radars for France.

TomTom is not a telephone network operator, it leases the lines (SFR for France) which it makes available to us by means of a subscription and this has a cost.

For example, I have a GO 940 live whose SIM module has failed, too expensive to repair, the SIM card number of the module can therefore be deleted from the operator, and therefore from their subscription (TomTom).

As such, TomTom gave me 25% on the purchase of a new device.

What is the difference between Live-services on a gox40/50 and the new ones like Gox200? The older making live-service-costs for TomTom and the newer not?
Or doesn't TomTom pass these costs of the new devices to the customers at the moment (but maybe in the future?).
No reason for me to throw away a functioning device at the moment and pay a lot of money for a big-brother-replacement (but admittedly the x200 are good devices).

Nothing to do with manufacturing costs!
This is just the cost of subscribing to telecom operators, whose lines are / will never again be used for x reasons.
In my humble opinion this concerns the management of operating costs passed on to the users, compulsory competition.

Ofcourse no manufacturing costs. These were paid in the store, if the calculation was reputable.

I don't think, that the new-device-live-services TomTom don't cost anything. But they do not charge(*) it for the new devices at the moment (for the by TT self-defined "life-time" of the product)? That's correct?
(*) Paid with the price of the new devices

No it is not paid with the price of new devices.

Note that TomTom buys you 0 € the information you send it that it sells you 0 € (fortunately) to allow you to guide us in real time (speed, position, etc.).

This is well worth the free lifetime (purchase price, sales information) of the connection to their servers.

TomTom is changing its commercial policy, it uses this mass of data that it monetizes this time to professionals.

I'm not as pessimistic as you are. No customers, no profits, no more company.

This is not pessimism, but rather more realism - out of my sight. Nothing against the new devices, if anybody need a device (his first device or as replacement for a damaged), why not buy one of them? They are state of the art today. But only buy a new one to send the old to hell to create profit for the company? There's already enough garbage in the world...
I'm not need these live services really in my daily use and for my holiday trips through europe or outside. But this is only my assessment, whoever sets other priorities will think differently.

Mav, just go for cracked mobile app then ;-) You may need internet connection though but it's not a problem nowadays - as my old GO 550 is not supported by TT anymore I used Android app and I was nicely surprised how good it worked during my last cross Europe trip and HD traffic saved probably 1.5 hrs of traffic in Germany, Netherlands and Belgium ...
