Don't hold your breath on that one as I'm sure people have tried that before. All that will do is allow you to Operate my Go in TTHome and also allows you to clone/copy a Live traffic sub:-

In Your Idea is a Failure. Maybe you can buy a Map with your changed "DeviceSerialNumber", but they will not work on these Device. Reason: The Map is activated with the "DeviceUniqueID", and this ID is not changed after you change
the Serialnumber. Sure work your new or Re-activating on your old Map, you have the same/old DeviceUniqueID.
Edith: The TTgo.bif is only a "Mirror" of the "Hardcoded" (a other Name i find not in this Moment) File into the Device. This is not changeable in a Device like yours
I totally agree with Schwan.... If it was so easy, do you not think we already try this method? This is the first place to look for any proper TRUE info. All was great until Microsoft stopped, through legal measures of letting TomTom use their ways. It was not TomTom, you should be angry about. But copyright laws, really. I am sure most of us did not use ower skills to upset TomTom. Personally, I was able to help them many times. Back in the day, the top brass's knew me and things were good.
Sadly after the lawsuit, I am not in a position to help, and any comments I make are aimed at their existing staff that seem to have little or no idea about their products or users wishes. I am sure they hate me now...but I speak the truth
It wasn't THAT long ago that we were able to get ALL the metas for ALL the maps (v885 Feb 2012 being the last release we could do that with; then the buggers closed the loophole from the v990's)
As I said, I thought it might be a stupid question and I take your point that if it was so easy it would already have been worked out here! I know nothing about the issues with Tomtom and Microsoft but I do appreciate the knowledge and help I have had on this forum.
Not only maps are no more sold for EOL NAV2 devices. Also Live Services sub's are no more sold.
And the suggested clone/copy a Live traffic sub won't probably work for a long period. After EOL Vodafone will deactivate the sim card.
Even for NAV3 and NAV4 devices the sim cards will be deactivated after a two year period of non usage.
And that's also applicable for ex works fitted navigation devices in cars like the Carminat.
Now ALL Rider v1/2/3's are included in this End-of-Life joke. See
Current listings of all devices is here:-
Hello,
can someone push me in right direction? I'm newbie in TomTom world and have outdated maps on Go 630 device. Central and Eastern Europe maps is what I need. What is latest version that will work in device? Of course, I hope that because there is no official way to buy/upgrade, they will not mind if I try unoficcially. Where to look for download links and HowTo instructions?
Thanks!
