Default Transferring Home Location, Favorites and Recent Destinations

I'm setting up an SDCARD for a friend on a MAZDA NB1 system. I want to transfer his home location, favorites and recent destinations to the new SDCARD with updated maps.

My searches so far have pointed to a mapsettings.cfg file that should be located in his original map folder. But his SDCARD does not have a mapsettings.cfg and neither does mine for that matter. So I'm at a bit of a loss as to where this data is stored on the NB1 system.

    Any help appreciated!

Mapsettings.cfg is stored in the map folder -Europe and North America on my GO910 - they are specific to a map.

I thought maybe this data was stored on the NB1's internal memory rather than the SDCARD. I have my original MAZDA SDCARD as well a new card I have created with latest patched maps. So I put my old original SDCARD in the car, and it had none of my favorites, and different recent destinations. I then put my new patched SDCARD back in and all my current favorites were restored and recent destinations were updated. This confirms with certainty that the data must reside on the SDCARD.

I then carefully went through and checked each file in my maps (/AUSTRALIA) folder. I have no additional files. Only those added when I updated to latest maps - and they are all the original file size.

So I had another look at files on the root of the SDCARD. I remember when pluging the new SDCARD into the MAZDA for the first time if created a folder /loopdir containing a file called loopback.ex3

I opened this file in a text editor, and all the favorites and recent destinations seem to be stored in this file. The file is quite large (15.7MB) and does not contain just text but much encoded data also. So I'm not sure if it will work copying from one SDCARD to another. I guess I will have to to try it and find out :P

Aha! Thanks Simba. I get it now. So the loopback.ex3 file is a linux disk image. It can be mounted on windows using explore2fs (read only) OR could be mounted in linux if you wanted write access to be able to edit some of the files it contains.

So this disk image contains all the additional preference related files that would usually just reside directly on the SDCARD. From what I've read the Carminat TomTom system also uses this loopback disk image.

When I browse mine, it contained the following:

    CurrentMap.dat
    TTExceptiontrace.dat
    UserPatch,dat
    ttgo.bif
    /art/cars/thumbs/-default.png
/art/cars/thumbs/Arrow Yellow.png etc (interesting all the pointer icons have been converted from .bmp on the SDCARD to.png within the loopback file.)
    /poiicons (empty)
    /Australia/DeletedPoi.local
    /Australia/MapUserPatch.dat
/Australia/mapsettings.tlv (this one is all my favorites and recents i assume)
    /contacts (empty)
/content/images/navcore/dynamic/32768.png etc (i have a bunch of these. they would appear to be .png versions (or alias) of my SCDB POI .bmp files I have in my map folder on the SDCARD)
    /itn/temporary.iti
    /locations (empty)
    /lost+found (empty)
/personal/pois/Favorites.ov2 (perhaps the system converts mapsettings.tlv in Favorites.ov2 and the navcore only references the .ov2 file??)
    /Profiles/icons (empty)
/sounds (empty) (interesting they don't include the audio files within the loopback image. i have many custom sounds on my SDCARD - but they are not included here)
    /statdata/allowtrip.dat
/statdata/triplog-2015011012.dat etc (many log files included in this folder)
