    Default Mazda NB1 (JUST discussions here). See Tutorials for HowTo

    I have been trying to get downloaded maps working on my Mazda Navigation NB1, using latest FastActivate (and also tried Albert's EasyActivator), but the ttsystem and map combination gives an error 'You can't use this 'Australia-922' map on this device'. This is the process I followed:-

    To use the tools, I had to create my own TTGO.BIF and save it in the root of the card, using what was displayed in the Device Information from TomTom Home. Once i did this I was able to extract Meta codes for my Australia map and create .dct files for Safety_Cams_AU_TomTom etc.

    So to test whether I can use copied maps, I made a backup of my maps .dct file and generated a new one with FastActivate (using the Meta.txt I had created earlier with the correct Meta code for the map).

    The next step was to patch navcore, so in TomTom Home I chose the 'Application update' option which copies a ttsystem file to the SD card for updating the hardware in the Mazda. I then tried to patch with FastActivate and the process asked me to confirm the drive letter of the card and it looked like it had worked. However, the ttsystem datestamp and filesize remained the same. When I installed the patched version in the Mazda I got the 'Can't use this map' error.

    So, have I done something wrong?

    Firstly try running F/A direct from the SD card rather than PC/laptop

    If no luck then what navcore are you running as we may already have a patched ttsystem file for it. Alternatively you could copy us with that ttsystem file & we could try to patch it?

    1, good chance that the "BIF" you created is no longer valid after the HOME update

    i suggest you find out the correct device-ID , then use EasyUseTool > Insert meta here > RunMe.BAT

    2, if you have a working DCT for the map its usually not needed to re-activate , because usually it is linked to the device ,not to the navcore ( exept with Android )

    Ah, in which case as this is a NAV3 device (running navcore v10/11/12) then I don't think it can be done!

    Maybe I should add this model to the list here

    Upgrading Your SD Card on Mazda NB1 TomTom Nav

    After 3 days of frustration and trying to figure out what I did wrong, I decided to make an easy step by step guide on how to upgrade your SD card for your TomTom Nav the correct way so you don’t have to go through the same pain I did.

    Take your original Mazda SD card and make of copy of all the files on your computer. Once copying is complete, take out your SD card.
    Download and install TomTom HOME2 (
    Link URL:

    )
    After installation is complete, insert your Mazda SD card.
    Set up an account with TomTom and register your device.
    Allow TomTom HOME2 to do its updates and back up your device.
    Once completed, eject your Mazda SD card and insert your new SDHC card that you picked.
    Go to My Computers and format your new SDHC card. Be sure to name it “TomTom”, make sure it’s format is FAT32, and deselect quick format.
    Once formatting is complete, you can copy and paste the original files from the Mazda SD card that you have saved on your computer to your new SD card.
    Take it to your vehicle and insert the card into the card reader.
    Start your ignition and press nav on your head unit.
    After initialization, it’ll tell you that it can’t read the map. THIS IS NORMAL. This process allowed the NB1 system to insert some hidden files onto the SD card.
    Turn off your ignition and take your SD card out.
    Insert your SD card to your computer.
    TomTom HOME will pop up again. This time, you have to click on Tools->Use Latest Map Guarantee.
    This will allow you to download the latest maps onto your computer and transfer it to your new SD card.
    Once you have installed the latest maps and did “Update your device”, you may eject your card from your computer.
    Take your SD card to your car and insert it back into the slot.
    Start your engine and press Nav
    Watch your TomTom unit be a lot quicker than before!

    This is the exact steps I did and it worked perfectly. Every step is important, so if you skip one, it might not work. Hopefully this will help you out as well.

    Thanks for all the replies

    The start of my TTGO.BIF that I made looks like this (with X's or 9's replacing some information):-

    [TomTomGo]
    DeviceName=TomTom Fuji_nonconnected_1024
    DeviceVersionHW=fuji
    DeviceSerialNumber=DR9999N99999
    SDCardId=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
    DeviceUniqueID=AKXXX AJXXX
    RamDiskVersion=20140117
    BootLoaderVersion=778626
    LinuxVersion=1440787
    ApplicationVersionVersionNumber=10852
    ApplicationVersion=1472547.542
    UserLanguage=English UK

    I tried running F/A on the card itself....

    I got the ttsystem out of the Fuji.cab file downloaded from TomTom. When you do a program update it extracts it to the root of the card and when you place the card in the car it gets loaded into the TomTom unit. I'll post a link to the cab file - if someone can extract ttsystem from the cabfile- is there a way of seeing if it's crackable?

    also carefully read the article i gave
    the internal core seems to write to your card ( make sure "show hidden files" is enabled in your PC ) , you must lock the card to internal again
