Hi Schwan,
Yes I'd like the Mazda files, but way earlier in the thread, Greatnloopy's big post it says to use the Android maps on the NB1, although I note that your instructions don't mention Android.

Hmm. I'm getting Map Europe-100566 cannot be used on this device messages. I'll have to copying to SD again. Updated fastactivate did appear to activate it.

It appears I am premature and there are no meta codes yet

Hey NickJH. Happy to hear you had similar results. There is no doubt calculating the route is substantially faster once ARP files removed. Also, try going off the route. With the arp files, it does not recalculate a new route (or it takes a very long time to come up with an alternative). With the arp files removed, once you deviate off the route - a new logical route is calculated within seconds. (As is normal on unpatched maps)
What you think, and TomTom thinks is the 'best' route is not always going to be the same. That's why the best way to test this is 'compare' the route for the same origin and destination on both original unpatched maps, and then patched maps. Just switch between one sdcard and the other. (Have to switch car off in between, switch cards, start car and wait for new maps to load.) You don't have to drive anywhere. Sit in the car, put in a destination, and then 'view' the route. You have to zoom in and drag around the map (which is a bit tricky on this touch screen). My tests so far have shown the same route generated as original unpatched maps when arp files removed from patched version. If I use arp files, a vastly different and illogical route is generated.

@jarkita could you please message me the link you found information about the purpose of these arp files. I think I understand what most of the other 'additional' files a for:
MAPSHARE
MapServerPatch.dat
PatchFilter.dat
ServerLineIndex.dat
ServerNameIndex.dat
VOICE CONTROL
folder /EN (or whatever language you use)
asrgrammerinfo.xml
SPEED LIMIT INFO ?
tdspdlim.ttd
But the 3x arp files are a total mystery as to what they do. Do they only exist in the Mazda build? Or are there other map versions that incorporate these 3 files?
Any info that can be shared is appreciated!

Googling indicates the files were only relevant for maps prior to 950. Implicitly they can then be deleted with 955 maps. Googling arp_0_2000_10_10_f.dat returns nothing useful but I guess the answer would be the same.
As an experiment I am going to create zero sized arp_0_2000_10_10_f.dat, arp_1_2000_10_10_f.dat and arp_2_2000_10_10_f.dat to see if the NB1 writes to them - which I doubt as my backups have a file date of 23/10/2013. My original SD has Europe-864.meta so v920 maps. I'll see what happens tomorrow.
Certainly routing and re-routing is much faster and way more sensible than before. I repeated a journey today which the NB1 was trying to send me all round the houses last week before I deleted the files and this time it chose a totally reasonable route.

I canned my experiment and upgraded to the 960 maps.
When I did that I noticed that there were some other old files left over from the initial installation:
postal_GBR.ttd
postal_NLD.ttd
I presume these are now replaced by the files in \zip so I've deleted them. Navigation by postcode still works.
I also have a file cphonmlh.dat left over from a previous map. I suspect it has been replaced by cphoneme.dat so I've deleted it as well.
Now with older dates all I have in my map folder is:
asrgrammarinfo.xml (24/10/2013)
default.ov2 (20/01/2015)
default.ver (20/01/2015)
And the country folders DE, EN, ES, FR, NL and PT which have not come from the new map.
I guess I can delete the non-EN country folders but I've no idea about the other 3 files so I'm leaving them for the moment.
