Thanks! It's good to know I can always revert back! {EDIT} worked out how to get appropriate info for ttgo.bif Will try running fast activate now...

My next challenge is to work out exactly which parts of which maps I should use. I have 3 to work with. (1) My original backup running Australia 940.6001 Maps. (2) A downloaded version of the latest 955_6810 Genuine Mazda Australia Maps (3) A downloaded version of the Android 955_6746 Australia Maps.

My understanding after reading through this thread is that I will need to use the Android 955_6746 Australia maps, as these are the only latest maps that have metadata available for fast activate to work its magic. There are however a number of additional files that are part of the NB1 build that are not part of the android build. So, my plan is to start with duplicating the original backup onto the new SD card, then over-writing the 940 files with the 955 genuine mazda file I have... and then over-writing again with the android maps before running fast activate.

My question is - does anyone know which files specifically are required in order for fast activate to patch the map. All of them? Some of them? I'm wondering if I can keep as many of the genuine mazda files as possible, rather than overwriting with android files that don't affect the patching process. Perhaps it is a bad idea to mix files between two different builds. What do you guys think?

Just ran fastactivate on a version where I started with original Australia 940.6001 backup - overwrote with files from downloaded 955 genuine mazda files, and only removed its .meta and .pna file and replaced with Australia-100455.meta and Australia.pna from the Android Australia_955_6746 download. Voices, Maps and Speed camera all generated .dct files successfully. Not sure if its safe to try this in the car yet though? Any thoughts/advise greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Thanks Schwan, I understand that the Navcore is already patched. (Thanks @ SIMBA) My question is it safe to use the Genuine Mazda Australia Map files and only the .meta and .pna file from the generic android 955_6746 Australia map? Fast activate has successfully generated a .dct based on these files BUT perhaps when I put it in the car, it will see that the build of the maps is different to what is referenced in the .meta/.dct. ? Am I required to use the android map files (associated with the supported .meta) instead of the genuine Mazda files for this to work?

Had my first trial/fail using a new SD card. NickJH may have had a point. The car installed SIMBAS patched Navcore... unfortunately it did not find any maps, so I'll have to have another look at that. I put my original SD card back in, and the old maps load ... But it doesn't re-install the original un-patched Navcore. I understand the ttsystem file needs to be found on the root of the sd card. Once installed to the car, it must remove it - so it doesn't try and install every time the car starts. So my original Mazda card no longer contains the original unpatched NavCore.

Does anyone have or can provide a link to an unpatched version of Navcore 10.854 ttsystem

    Thanks!

Nevermind... found it. For anyone else who may want to revert to latest unpatched NAVCORE:

    download.tomtom.com/sweet/navcore/10.854.1663560_ECR9.8-CAB-Fuji.cab

Extract ttsystem and /TomTom-Cfg from cab file using 7z or similar unarchiver. Place @ root level of SD Card.

I have successfully reverted from simbas patched navcore to this unpatched navcore using this file. I'll have another attempt at getting the patched version to work, but I'm happy I can revert back to a clean system if necessary.

No One say, what you have done......1. Use the Australia 955.6746(this is not a Android-map) COMPLETE!!, activative and Use it
    2. If you have oerwrite your System with a unpatched ttsystem (i think this work only as a Update from a lower Version) and this is really true, i think your system no more can patched

Thanks. Yes I realise now I need to use the 955.6746 maps complete. I'd also prefer to find a PC to run fast activate. I only have Mac, so ran windows xp in a virtual machine (parallels desktop). The virtual machine would not mount the SD card, so I had to run fast activate from a folder on the windows desktop, not directly on the sd card. This could also be a problem perhaps.

No problems putting the patched Navcore back on. If the car finds ttsystem on the sd card, it prompts to install... Even if it's the same version number (10.854->10.854).

Success. I managed to get the sd card to mount on the windows XP running on a virtual machine on Mac and successfully ran fast activate. Reloaded the patched Navcore in the car, and the latest maps are working, as is voice control and the latest speed cameras (I think). I'll test it out more over the next few days to make sure it's all stable and working normally. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread... And especially Schwan for the guidance.

The next thing I wanna have a look at is traffic, which is disabled on the Mazda in Australia. The hardware seems to support Rds-Tcm traffic as I can manually tune into a radio frequency under the services/traffic menu. And Australia does have a service in major cities (SUNA) that tomtom uses. So perhaps it is simply disabled in the Mazda software? I noticed when making my ttgo.bif that there is a string "Traffic=N"

Wonder if changing this to Traffic=Y would enable this feature?? Anyone know anything about this?
