Under 1Gb Europe maps
Hello,
I've a TomTom XL 30 series (1 GB ram) and I'm trying to update the map to Europe_1GB_West_920_5267 or Europe_1GB_South_920_5267.
I downloaded the above maps which include Europe_1GB_West-854.meta file. When I try patching thes maps with FastActivate I get "Europe_1GB_West-854.meta => .dct ERROR" or "Europe_1GB_South-854.meta => .dct ERROR". It looks like the meta file included not works and they are not available.
Also I find this but I has no success using it.
Anyone had success with these Europe 1GB maps?
I'll appreciate yr helpcoukou Reviewed by coukou on . If, as you posted elsewhere, you have an XL 30 series (1 GB ram) then NONE of the "Western_Europe_1GB" maps will fit your device (even though the dummys at TT call them 1GB they are ALL bigger than that and remember your 1GB memory restriction needs to incl the full navcore/application too)
The latest under 1GB (North, South or Western) Europe maps with meta codes are so either you will have to stick with one of these older v910 maps or buy the v925 version you want (remembering to create/share the meta with us here)
PS I noticed on another forum that you said you'd tried Western_Europe_1GB 915_5106 (which there is a meta for) and this had failed but this could never have fitted into your device anyway.

Hats off! You’re right!
I'm trying to fall back on the older map Europe_1GB_West_910_4952. This TomTom XL is belongs a friend.
BTW, It took me 2 hours for copying a map (750 MB). TomTom forum recommends to low level format the device. Although, I low format this TomTom, still it take 2 hours for copying. WEIRD
Also, this TomTom use Navcore v9.170 (about 100 MB). What low size Navcore update you’ll recommend?
Regards

See here for current/correct navcore
Just let TTHome incrementally update your navcore until it says "up to date"
PS you could also run clearflash.exe 3 times to clean the junk out

TNX biggerdave,
I tested yr clearflash 3 tmes as you recommend and allowed a reboot after each run... it worst.
The device had no mre access to the map and got "no maps found" message. I'm reformating the device and copying everything (:

Clearflash is meant to clean/speed things up.
If you've let TTHome update to the latest navcore remember that new navcore needs to be patched (F/A option #3) too to enable it to read cracked maps

reformatting the device and copying everything back is a waste of time and not needed
leave it as is
you just ;
1 patch navcore
2 activate map
2b check if the .DCT is present
3 if DCT is there ;reset , and all should be fine
3b if no DCT , you did something wrong somewhere
-check if meta-key is copied correct
-try other tools
-make sure antivirus or firewall is not blocking it

TNX all
Finally I re-format, copied Navcore v9.170 and Europe_1GB_West_910_4952, tested, everything works like a charm
