Has the methodology of installing TT for Android changed ??

Previous downloads I've simply copied the whole "tomtom" folder, and the .apk to the SD card, then installed from the .apk and its worked fine. Tried this with 2 seperate downloads of the 920 versions and it keeps trying to connect to TT servers (and failing) ....

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong ??

I've copied back the 915 folder and .apk and that re-installs OK ....

Confused of Wiltshire ....

I had "Europe_915_5120" and "USA_Canada_915_5120" installed on my Galaxy S2.
I didn't uninstalled/reinstalled the APKs, but I just replaced "com.tomtom.europe" and "com.tomtom.uscanada" folders with the new ones from "Europe_920_5276" and "USA_Canada_920_5276" and everything is working fine with these new 920 versions.

Nice idea but unfortunately didn't work ... instantly tries to connect to TT servers ..

Yep, I had the same problem, then downloaded the UK&RoI with the speed cams from here:-

you tried Lucky Patcher , to remove license check ?
AFAIK TT should work even without internet

internet research and I found "Lucky Patcher" .. installed and tried all modes .. still no joy ..

many thanks for the idea .. well worth a try ... looks like the apk "patch" may not be quite right as the 915 versions work without trying to call home ..

It worked just fine "out of the box" for me


I use a771la's apk so as I can use the same 920.5241 map on my TomTom and Android devices.


I've lost count of how many times over the years I've found the speed limits wrong.
It often takes TomTom a couple of years to get up to date.
With the aid of the more up to date SCDB I have bugles sounding and a very nice lady shouting out the speed limit when I get near a speed camera.
With Esqiro's script the sounds work just as well on the Android.

Hi .. thanks for the ideas .. from the link you list it all works fine ... so it looks like either the .apk or the .dct of the western Europe maps is not quite right... hopefully it'll be sorted before next years Le Mans Clasic ... which is the next time I'll need France !!! I'll live with UK only until then !!
