hey wait , something wrong here
i never heard of a add-on
AFAIK Home should work normally without add-ons
if you have official NC , then "operate my device" should work normally without patching ( except for truck-navcore )
i assume you have latest version ?
if so , try running it as administrator ( vista / win7 / win8 )
also check if a firewall or antivirus is not interfering
Got windows 7, tried disabling antivirus & run as administrator,but it still wants to download a file & then I get this error :-
ERROR: Installation of the add-on failed.
Stack:
0. function errorAbortTask chrome://tthome/content/logic/ttPage.js:88
error(e);
1. chrome://tthome/content/ui/subtask/emulator/emulatorPage.js:252
errorAbortTask(error);
2. chrome://tthome/content/logic/util.js:79
return func.apply(obj, arguments);
3. chrome://tthome/content/logic/model/ttAddon.js:651
this._errorCallback(this._stringBundle.GetStringFromName("addon.installFailed"));

I'll try it on my netbook with XP home on it
better use your PC with Firefox
Home should not give trouble anyway , not with official navcore :ct:
Same on my netbook - it needed to download a file and had an error - can't copy & paste it, but it was a fairly similar error message.
[EDIT] - just tried it all again & managed to download the add on on my netbook & got it working.
I have got to the stage where it says that I cannot use this map on this device :-
United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland-788
[2nd EDIT] - forgot to patch the home.dll on netbook, that's why I had the above error, but can now browse the map on my netbook.
Has anyone got a Tomtom Start that is working with an activated map ?
you checked the drive for errors ?
right-click the drive in explorer
properties > tools-tab >
