I got notified last week but forgot to post here.

Another updated version was released yesterday and still no fix for the mapshare status indicator/extension. What a bunch of winkers ( misprint lol )!
I wonder if it's because they're anticipating pulling the plug on the rest of the NAV2 devices as TTHome is normally updated just before something serious happens (or occasionally to correct a cockup of course)?
It will be 5 months next month since the other NAV2's were made end-of-life in Nov-16 and, irrespective of exactly when this will happen, I'm totally convinced it will be before this November; probably Apr/May time is my reckoning.
The mapshare plugin has not been updated for the version bump from 2.9 to 2.10 :(
- make sure TTH is closed
- Go into the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\TomTom HOME 2\xul\extensions\MapShare-status@tomtom.com (for x64 OS)
- make a backup copy of file install.rdf
- open the file with a text editor
- look for the following string (should be on row 14)
- <em:maxVersion>2.9.*</em:maxVersion>
- replace the 9 with 10, like the following
- <em:maxVersion>2.10.*</em:maxVersion>
- save and close the file
- run TTH and the MapShare indicator will be up and running! :)
Hi.
Thanks for your suggestion. It worked a treat. Much appreciated and many thanks.
As an afterthought, and only for aesthetic reasons, I used your method to alter the equivalent install.rdf file in the baseTheme extension and this has cured the incompatibility error regarding the Home theme extension as well.
Furthermore, just in case anyone else has tried this method and failed at the initial attempt - this was my wokaround. Even although I followed the instructions carefully it wouldn't work for me after editing and saving the relevant file. I had to copy the original file to a different location on my pc and then edit it and save it. Then, here's the important bit, I had to delete the original file from the extension location and then copy back/replace it with the edited version for Home to recognise it.It worked in the end though
Yet ANOTHER "critical" version forced upon us:- 2.10.2.750 & 2.10.2.600 for the MAC (can't see any difference yet but maybe relating to end-of-life of the remaining NAV2's?)
"Several improvements in performance and bug fixes have been implemented" yeah, right!
...for sure they didn't correct the mapshare plugin bug... my solution above is still valid!
BTW: I found out that even the "base theme" has the same problem (not sure if was wrong even before) but since it actually do NOT contains anything the look isn't changed with the install.rdf amended or not! :er:
