Hi Mav, can you confirm this 2.9.3 DOES indeed still INSIST you login even to "update" as that's the reason I'm sticking with 2.9.2 which doesn't?

It definitely does. Try updating from Memory stick without the ttgo.bif file and you cannot do it. It reads data from there and logs you in automatically. If you lose connections, it tries until it ties up with server, logs you back in and carries on download

I was cursing virginmedia to be honest. But now i'm not
    I just hit 180Mbps tonight

curse them for piratebay, but many ways to skin a cat. In a torrent, just got a download at 26MB/s. Kisses virgin. Long reign piratebay. 26 MB/s is connection of 208Mbps. Not bad since I pay about £47 for 100Mbps

Well its very white outside. Better drive once around the block to move the snow, pop to the ATM, get some money, get some beer and get some ciggies. If we get 200mm by morning, i'll have a lie in and do some serious work, otherwise go to work and get bored, coz no one else will bother. Oh sod it, may as well treat tonight as Friday night and take a day off.

Yeah, with only 1 or 2 registered devices that's fine BUT if you're playing with numerous/unregistered devices THEN it's a pain.

To stop the update being offered you can also change the first figure of the version number to 3 and achieve the same result, saves changing the version number regularly.

Changed my appliication.ini version to 2.9.3.2692 and it doesn't want to d/l new version.
Might try and let TTHome d/l new version when I have time to spare - if it is recommended.

How do I stop home auto-updating ?? No matter which version, or what I put in preferences .. as soon as I open it, it does an update and ends up with the new one .. just gives me a "critical update" and if I choose cancel it shuts down completely ... going around in circles here ..

    I can't find application.ini .. ?? Win 7 here .

    EDIT .. Sorted

Eventually found the application.ini ... in the folder /xul ... changed the first digit of the version number from 2 to 3 .. saved and tried it .... all working nicely again...

Navigate to: C:\Program Files\TomTom HOME 2\xul (or wherever it is)

Using Notepad, Wordpad or another text editor, edit the file in xul called application.ini as follows:

In the line which reads 'Version=2.X.X.XXXX' (matching the version you have installed), modify the number to read '3.x.x.xxxx'

That way TTHome will already think you have latest version.
