My experiment with my Rider 550
Until recently it was certain that a maximum of 32GB SDHC was usable.
I have a 64GB SDHC formatted FAT32.
Started up the Rider 550 and then added the 64GB.
The Rider offers to reformat the 64GB again.
If you first insert the 64GB before starting up, this will not work.
Now connect the Rider 550 via USB to my PC and start Mydrive connect.
On the Rider 550 I go through the menu to the section change/remove/add maps.
I could upload the maps already offered to me via that menu to the SD card until no more maps were offered.
Insert the SDHC card into the card reader and start RLinkexporer 1.4.1.
This indicates that all files have been transferred successfully.
Unfortunately, the maps cannot be found where they normally end up.
Lost+Found takes me to a long list of folders with numbers.
To my surprise, I came across a dct file in almost every folder.
I was able to move a large number, almost half, to an empty folder elsewhere.
To be precise this:
Australia-103989.meta.dct
Central_and_Eastern_Europe-103988.meta.dct
Central_Europe-103988.meta.dct
Eastern_Europe-103988.meta.dct
France-103988.meta.dct
Greece-103988.meta.dct
Iberia-103988.meta.dct
India-103989.meta.dct
Italia-103988.meta.dct
Kazakhstan-103989.meta.dct
New_Zealand-103989.meta.dct
Northern_Europe-103988.meta.dct
Oceania-103989.meta.dct
Poland-103988.meta.dct
Russia-103988.meta.dct
Scandinavia-103988.meta.dct
Southern_Africa-103989.meta.dct
Southern_Europe-103988.meta.dct
Turkey-103988.meta.dct
United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland-103988.meta.dct
Western_Europe-103988.meta.dct
Some folders were and remain empty.
But almost the other half still contains a usable dct file.
But no matter what I try, if I drag it to another place, it appears briefly in the list, but I can wait forever, but that DCT file in question cannot be moved.
This could be a way to generate a bulk of dct files.
The question remains why one DCT file can be moved and the other cannot, including possibly moving all those numbered folders, the moving simply stops after a while.
The fully written 64GB SDHC placed back in the Rider 550 is suddenly no longer recognized.
Perhaps this can also be applied to other models
Does anyone have a brilliant idea on how to proceed with this?
P.S.
I have found a solution for not being able to copy some dct files.
During the move, the file becomes visible in the selected folder.
By copying this dct from that selected folder to another one, you can still save it.
The dct file will disappear in the selected folder as soon as cancel is selected.
Being able to separate 29 of the 38 dct files
