Hi, I have just wanted to update my tomtom go 1505 and .... windows says that I have to format my device to use it. I did it. Now my via 1505 is being recognised in windows. I can upload/delete files on it.
Anyway it is not recognised by MyDrive and I can onlyy see a spinning wheel on the tomtom screen

    these devices are crazy...
If anyone wants this mainboard for testing please let me know! it's useless for me right now.

So Mydrive won't update anything? It should run from scratch ...

    # the latest version is called "MyDriveConnect"
make sure its installed and running

    # you also must have Adobe Flash Player , preferably latest

    # disconnect the device ( make sure it is charged first )
press and hold the on-button until you see the black info-screen
then QUICKLY press the button 3 times ( important ) , when done right you 'll see a spinning cogwheel , if not ; repeat

#connect to PC again and it will restore the device ( do not disconnect until its done )

    edit ;
Windows can never see the device as a drive , for several reasons
you probably formatted your sd-card , but not the internal drive ; not possible

you can find it under ; Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Devices and Printers when connected

if MyDrive wont recognize the device , there is something else , but its no paperweight yet

I have updated many via/go devices via tomtom mydrive, it's the first one which is being recognised by my PC. There is no sd card in it. I know this solution, unfortunately it doesn't work on it;/
Every time I am connecting it to the PC - it is saying that I have to format it before using. After making a format I can access the internal hdd in my tomtom. Weird, isn't it?
    device: 4EV52

if anyone wants this PCB for testing let me know

this device is not being recognised by mydrive, just by my pc - like the old tomtoms. It is very incomprehensibly for me.

if you formatted in Windows its still useless
the fileformat used is EXT ( Linux ) , not FAT ( Windows )

strange as it seems if your PC can see the device
you look on Google for windows or linux testdis (testdis look at the manual) gives you analyze and see if it recovers files or partitions.
at Google can also find programs to recover data after having formatted.
    Greetings.

Why not use the SSL heartbleeding bug to decrypt the SSL communications or is this already patched?
