Many users who start, after deciding what version they are going to install (which is already a small job, it implies understanding the concept of installation in internal memory (IM) or external memory expansion (SD) card as well as understanding the contents of the folder base that must incorporate the maps…) Obviously when a veteran tells them to put the maps they don’t have it very clear, so that we are going to introduce you a little in the subject.

    The providers

Sygic has two essential providers; TomTom and HERE.

The maps are usually released every three months (they collect changes of direction in streets, new infrastructures, new areas for pedestrians restricted to traffic, or even they may not). Usually, it takes a
long time until you notice any change in the area where you move. In fact, there are users who, if they are not at the last, feel like they are uninformed. Others simply change them a few days before leaving on vacation. For luck of all, in the Maps section you have the latest downloaders to update when you wish.

One of the characteristics of the Sygic application is the lack of continental maps, ie there is no map of Europe as such. You can obtain the countries that are considered necessary by having continuity in the routes created in contiguous countries.

As you know, Sygic has both Truck versions and versions for non-Truck vehicles that we will generically refer to as “Cars” (Navigation, Car...)

The apks with their base folder form a different set, so that a user can have installed in one device a Truck version and the other Cars versions, with their respective wcl and content in Maps.

    Here (nt)

The Truck version to fully perform its function must incorporate HERE maps as they have the Truck info that reads the Truck apk. The HERE maps are classified by countries.

It is necessary to clarify that a Car version can use a HERE map but obviously it will not have any of the Truck options.

    TomTom (ta)

Until not long ago in TomTom the maps were classified by countries, from the version 17.3.2 TomTom implements its new maps dividing some countries into different parts, so they must be all obtained to have the complete map of a country or simply get only the part you need saving space on your device. These parts maps are read exclusively from version 17.3.2 to higher versions.

Although the term region is used, this does not imply that it fits the real administrative regions.

TomTom keeps the maps by countries; the versions before the 17.3.2 read these maps and the versions from the 17.3.2 can read both. That is; by countries of both suppliers and by TomTom parts and both suppliers. If you observe the following image you will understand it right away.

On the margin are the essential versions that also explain how they behave with respect to the viewing of third-party radars

But there is a clear question that this is constantly changing, so that in the latest versions you have to check the threads of the version, let's consider the past but not the future ...

    The million question...

¿So which on should I put? Those who use the Truck version do not ask this question (obviously HERE) but the users of the Cars versions that have to decide could read from more advanced users who prefer any provider because maybe in any other that little town does not figure out or such provider has updated the meaning of a street before ... well the best thing is that you try them both, if you have enough space you can do it easily.

    Testing the maps

This is the structure of the typical Sygic base folder. Maps are contained within the MAP folder and it also contains other folders and files, this meaning that the MAP folder must be complete in order for it to work.

In the MAP folder we have introduced the HERE maps that are in service (Sygic searches and reads the Maps folder)

So we can also have a Maps_TT folder inside files that is in the same directory as this MAP but it will not read it because it's called Maps_TT

After you test the HERE from the file manager of your device, rename the current Maps it as Maps_HE and it will no longer read it, then Maps_TT will rename it as Maps. In the next start Sygic read Maps only when you have the maps of another provider

This also applies to the creation of a Maps_TTParts folder.

In this case, the Maps folder is in service, which contains tomtom (ta) 2019.03 v9.01 by parts or regions.

The latest versions are complex, testing does not imply that everything works, in these years many changes have been seen, the goal is that you can have a base as a reference.

Do not ask for private, that's what the forum is for.
Your doubts, others have had, read the threads before asking, you will know the experiences and maybe they are resolved.
Facilitate device, operating system, version, install, internal or external memory, what you have done, where you stand ...
