Are there any instruction how to install software?
No, I am sorry I do not know what you are supposed to do. But if I remember you can search the web and find instructions on what to do.
I was going to update the radio but I never got around doing it and now the radio or unit is funky. The battery is bad and it keeps rebooting it self so I can not update the unit unless I repair it. I was also going to order a refurbished replacement unit with updates maps. From what I understand the maps will not get any more updates, the system has reached "end of life", but I do not care about the GPS as I prefer to use a Garmin GPS. The C5 Gen II came with build in GPS when I bought it.
Next time it would be nice to emphisize that you havent test it. Messing with software could lead to a faulty unit and inexperienced users can brick their devices.
