To get this version working on the new devices, you have to make a couple of changes.

The version supplied here comes with the 2.x version of the map pilot software, to work on the newer devices is needs to be 3.0.18.

If you look at the contents of the .apd files, this indicates all the software files that are used for each component. for this to work you need to remove all the 2.x application files, and then copy over the 3.0.18 files - this will upgrade the device from 2.x to 3.0.18.

You must not plug the device into the BMP software, as the serial number for these releases start with M013, and what will happen is the software will try to install the firmware of an older version on the new version, thus bricking it.

The software file for both is navcore.apd - and this will list all the files that need to be manually removed first.

So if i have problem with APD files (because software is older) - can I copy only files with maps to my BMP?

I've not tried it by just copying the maps over, what I did was to use the image, delete all the 2.x software as per the APD files, and then copy the 3.0.18 software back from a previous install, paying attention to the APD file for that version in order to ensure I had everything correct.

It's working for me.

What would be more interesting is to disassemble the .dll that does the drm, and see how the 388.drm file, for example is generated.
