    Default NavNGo Win CE 2008 IGO 8.3.2

    My ancient Nav N Go Win CE machine:

    Device ID:lotsa zeros

    Running Nav N Go iGo 8
    8.3.2.80621
    Mar 10 2009
    Basemap 2007.07 [080812]
    Canada 2008.10 [081210]

    This thing is OLD!, plus it has 2 vertical screen lines and one hor screen line.
    But you can get into Windows CE, play video and MP3's
    has an FM xmitter and games...
    AND THE GPS REALLY LOCKS ON FAST...
    The GPS on this thing puts my Garmin to shame, indoors even!

    Found a handy post: "Canada_HERE_2020.Q4" by Nyky,
    going to try to make up a new SD card, copy over the orig files then replace with the newer ones
    in the CANADA HERE post and see what happens.

    If I get it working, will try to update the USA map that is also on the 2GB SD card.

    Any tips about key files, security, whatever appreciated.


    Thanks to all who made updates available, have already updated my ancient Garmin,
    after this, the 2011 NAVTEQ !!!

    NEXT DAY: HOLY MOTHER OF FISH! That wasn't too hard. Copied the files on the original 2GB SD card to a new 16GB SD card, then copied over the files in the "Canada_HERE_2020.Q4" by Nyky, sticking them into place according to the nifty "structure for Primo folders and their content" graphic found in another post (/igo-general-discussions/252366-igo-setup-help.html?highlight=where+igo+files+go by kwbs)

    Changed the filenames to match the originals; in this case Canada.xxx

    AND...
    It worked! 2020 Canada maps in my 2008 NavN Go.
    Still running on the 2007 basemap.

    Gonna try to find a newer USA map(s) next.

    I Later tried this trick with the USA maps. It didn't work as well.
    I copied the entire iGO8-USA onto the new card, then dropped in the new maps, renamed
    them as best I could.
    Silly me only downloaded an "update" package of maps here, so was missing plenty of states.
    No idea if I needed any other files than the .fbl files.
    Got confused on the renamings..

    Gave up. Left the mess on the card, put the unit in mom's car because
    she only needs Canada and that was working great with the updated maps.

    One day I shall figure out the finicky proper map file replacement routine.
    Old unit still gets a sat lock REAL FAST, works fine.

    Hooray. But if you are updating USA maps, expect some extra work.

    and it's work with IGO 8.2.124260 and Navteq map 2021 , so funny ^^
