I am sorry for my stupid question. I am beginer. Several years ago I bought new Honda Goldwing 1800 motorcycle with internal navi of Garmin. But Honda never upgraded maps for Europe. Only for USA. That is why all owners of this EU motorcycles have not new maps. This forum gives me big chance to get map of all Europe included Turkey. My question is: If I download file City_Navigator_Europe_NTU_2023_10_Unlocked.gmap, will I get one file gmasupp.img? Or gmapprom.img is also suitable for my internal navi. Could you give me advice? Till the last year I used maps from Garmin.OpenStreetMap.nl. But it does not work now.

First you have to give us a model of your Garmin on your honda.....so that we will know whetther you need NT or NTU card......plus Garmins internal storage (East and west part of card)......there are many variables in your "equation"

Thank you for your reply.
But in Garmin support information are not true. I sent letter by post to Honda Tokyo, Japan with question about map upgrade. They re-sent my letter to Honda CZ. And Honda CZ called me again, they have not information about map upgrade for Goldwing. I wrote several e-mails to European Honda - GB, D, Fr, AT, PL etc. For USA and Canada exists maps in Garmin´s shop. About USD 99,-. But no for EU.

Garmin clearly states what to do:
You will have to go to your nearest Honda Gold Wing dealer where you live.
If they can not help you and the Honda you have is from a different country then you have a problem.
Product update website from Garmin:

Dear friends, I do not know how to explain it. I bought Goldwing in 2015. From 2016 I am triying to get maps upgrade. Once more- for USA and Canada is possible to buy maps with software in Garmin shop. Software is the same as for US and EU version. Maybe some small differencies. But maps for EU Goldwing do not exists in Garmin shops. You can read it in Garmin support. Can you see possibilty how to buy or download actual maps for my European Goldwing? No, only how to remove SD card from navi unit.
Please, my question is how to get one gmasupp or gmapprom img file with actual map
of all Europe? I suggest for this navi is NT and NTU suitable. But I do not know what is difference between NT and NTU. Could you give me advice? Thank you very much.

You will not get much help from Garmin or Honda, this has been reported extensively on many Honda forums.
To get help you will need to answer the questions asked here.
From your post it turns out you have Honda Goldwing 1800 2015 model, was this one imported from the US to Europe ?
You will most probably have to choose a region, as Europe maps have out grown even the 4Gb file limit.
Before you used the OSM what was the file structure of the SD card ,the existing map would tell us NT or NTU did you make a back up ?

Yes, you are right. All question to Honda and Garmin are without answer.
I have bought it in Europe from Honda in 2015. The navi system is the same as in Goldwing from USA. My girlfriend bought it from USA and I loaded maps to her navigation. The navi system accepted more than 4GB of maps. In this time I have 3,7GB with no problem. The 32 GB navi not accepted.
As I wrote. Several years I downloaded maps from garminopenstreetmap.nl. Ii was without problem. I am sorry I do not know difference between NT and NTU.
I would like send you printscreen of original Honda SD with name of files. I cannot add picture to my post.

You have Honda Goldwing 1800 2015 model, imported from the US to Europe ????
Seems you have been trying to sort this out for 6 years .
Upload images to
So now we guess this was imported from the USA & we know the probability is high that NT maps are the way to go as they are the standard for that region.
Try this small test map

Than you for test. I will try it.
I have found information of Garmin Navi in my Goldwing. In this time I have map version CN EUROPE NT 2021.20. The map goes very well. With no problem at my EU motorcycle.
I triyed add attachment with list of original Honda SD card files from 2014 y. But only rar, zip and txt is possible to add.
Files are: the biggest is gmapprom.img - 3,3GB, gmapbmap.img - 51MB, gmatz.img - 594KB, sys.bin - 29MB, grmn0.gma, gmapprom.unl, garmindevice.xml
