I always use winrar.
Pack the file(s) or map in a rar-file and give it a password.
After that delete the original.
Works very good for me.

Indeed Peter that is also a solution, but you have to pack and unpack everything yourself.
I have already thrown away the Secretfolder tool, each time a connection is made to the site.
I did not investigate why, but I had a more convenient tool, everything would then just like rar in 1 file with for example the extension jpg or bmp, whichever known,
By starting the tool it became visible as a folder and when restarted it was encrypted again, unfortunately I can no longer find it on my system, but it must be somewhere to find.
I'm going to try this one too (especially if I can find a working key to the pro version) as I do like their stuff
NOW WE'RE COOKING. I'm really liking this IObit tool and found loads of lifetime keys here too:-
Just remember to follow the instructions:-
Install latest trial version of IObit Protected Folder
Open IObit Protected Folder and TURN OFF YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION
Copy one of the keys given below and activate IObit Protected Folder
It will give a license validation error, just ignore it and press okay
Close IObit Protected Folder and Turn on your internet connection (if you want)
Open IObit Protected Folder again enjoy
Dave,
I did send you a pm, but I see you already found it.

Once you have written both scripts, hide and unhide, you can use them again and again.
But every now and then I look for an even simpler tool
