Thanks for the response. 2 out of 4 of my Garmins are LM series and don't have problem with updated maps as it can easily and freely done on Garmin Express. But the remaining two, 250W and 1300 are NOT LM series, hence the reason for being in this forum. I'd like to delete the pre-program map and replace it with an unlock map from here. But I have hesitations as there are other two associated files with the gmpprom.img files. One in particular is the checksum file which checks for authenticity of the image file. Obviously, a downloaded file from here I believe will not pass the checksum. For now I just have to keep the supp image file until I can get a concrete answer or a gmpprom.img file that comes with its own checksum file. Thanks again.

Checksum files on the device don't 'authenticate' map img files in the way you're inferring. You can safely delete them, nothing bad will result.

Your nuvi 250W and 1300 can use maps unlocked with gimgunlock V0.04, remove any maps from the device covering the same area and place the new unlocked maps on a media card rather than on the device. Both devices will recognize a file named "gmapsupp.img" placed in a root folder named Garmin in the card and the 1300 can additionally ultilize "<any_name>.img" in a Map folder in card root.

If you want you can use "gmapprom.img" in internal Garmin folder of the 250W or the .System folder of the 1300 or "<any_name>.img" in a Map folder internally too, but it's much safer to use the card for unlocked/unofficial maps.

    Hi Genius3,

thank you for your work, but none of your images (All West, All East) is working, only 3-D Buildings are correct. They are not even displayed in the device. Sorry for that.

    I tested All West from

    and it is working correctly.

You don't say what device, most probably a naming/location issue as I 've just downloaded All West and it works fine as you would expect from

Hello! Unfortunately, I do not agree with your claims. Now I downloaded everything again and copyed on the SD card and then inserted it into the slot of the device and everything works fine for me.

I see you are a beginner and for a better understanding take a look at the pictures below. Thank you for your understanding!

    1. This is just one of the combinations of how it is loaded on the SD card.

    2. This is what it looks like on the device when the SD card is inserted in the device slot.

    Hello!
Thanks for the advice. It is true that there are several combinations of how to install this on a device or SD card. Personally, I see no reason to rename the file e.g. in gmapsupp (not gmapsup), if the combination shown in the image attached above, which is installed on my SD card and then inserted into the device slot, works flawlessly on my device.
    Friendly greetings!

    Hi,

I am currently trying to create my own map of the gmap NT 2022.10 with Mapsource or Mapinstall. Gmap is unlocked.
The maps are for Kenwood Naviceiver. The two maps West + East offered here work, my own ones don't.
With the Gmaptool the header looks like this, with others who create a map the header looks different.
    What am I doing wrong?

    My Header
    Datei: C:/garmin/gmapsupp.img, Länge 624394240
    Header: 13.12.2021 15:12:34, DSKIMG, XOR 00, V 0.00, Ms 1, 000-00000-00
    Mapset: Test3

    Daten MPS
    V: Test3 (0)
    F: PID 1, FID 8929, CN Europe NT 2022.10

    Header from a user:

    Header: 05.12.2021 00:59:31, DSKIMG, XOR 00, V 20.22, Ms 0, D032342AG014

    Hi dear!
When you create a new MapSet by yourself, you MUST Unlock the IMG file again with gimgunlock-0.04.exe
Another Tip (but not mandatory) is MS flag: it should be set to 0 with GMapTool, with MS = 1 the Map is ONLY visible by Device, Not by BaseCamp

    Thank you Firefox58!
    But what about this?
    Header: 13.12.2021 15:12:34, DSKIMG, XOR 00, V 0.00, Ms 1, 000-00000-00
