    Universal Firmware Patcher for Protected Garmin Devices v.1.10

    This is an universal firmware patcher for protected Garmin devices.
    Many devices recently have a strong firmware protection and cannot use unlocked maps because firmware requires .gma and has MSV ( Map Signature Verification).

    1. Remove any gupdate.gcd in your device.
    2. Set device to Mass Storage.

    3. Download the patcher:

    4. Download firmware gupdate.gcd Copy it in the patcher directory Note: be sure to get your device HWID firmware, check it in garmindevice.xml

    5. Open Patcher and drop the gupdate.gcd in patcher window. The patcher will provide the patched gupdate.gcd in your chosen directory.
    6. Drop your patched gupdate.gcd in RGNTool and save it as .rgn.
    7. Drag the .rgn in Updater.exe icon, Updater.exe will open, tick USB
    8. Now plug your device to your pc and device will start and immediately, as Garmin logo appears press upper left corner to get preboot mode and make Updater.exe to see your device, at that point click OK (still holding upper left corner untill the flashing process is finished and Updater will show "Success!") Safely unplug device from pc.

    NOTE: to flash a firmware update in the future, just patch the new gupdate.gcd and flash it normally with Webupdater (drag&drop the file in Webupdater shortcut on desktop) or copy gupdate.gcd in the sd or in .System.

    Remember to remove any previous gupdate.gcd in your device, before flashing any updates.

    Show Hidden Files windows. Click the “Organize” button on Windows Explorer’s toolbar and select “Folder and search options” to open it

    Click the “View” tab at the top of the Folder Options window. Select “Show hidden files, folders, and drives” under Hidden files and folders. Click “OK” to save the new setting.

    View Protected Operating System Files on Windows 7, 8, and 10 First, open the Folder Options window. On Windows 8 and 10, click the “Options” button on the View toolbar. On Windows 7, click Organize > Folder and search options.

    Click the “View” tab. Uncheck the “Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)” box

    .Newer nuviji 2xx5 series, 3xxx, zumo 350 is near the top of the case need to set the MTP to Mass Storage to show hidden folders .System: 1. Going into Developer menu, first go to the "cockpit"

    2. You are holding your finger on the middle of the screen approx. seconds to open a page with diagnostics

    3.Going down one page in the menu

    4.You choose MTP Settings

    5.choose "Mass Storage" and shraniš.


    When connecting to a PC .System folder will be displayed and settings will be valid until the first reset.
    After each reset the device it is necessary to repeat the procedure.

    Pre-Boot mode
    1. Power OFF your Nuvi.
    2. Press and keep holding the most left upper corner of the LCD screen
    3. Power ON your Nuvi but DON NOT release your finger from LCD screen (keep left upper corner of the LCD screen procedure ends)
    4. You will notice Nuvi boots in Pre-Boot mode. Now quickly connect your USB cable.
