Thank you advance.
Thank you! is the gmap3d updated with every release? I used the 3d from 2022.20 with the 2023.10 update and it seemed to work fine (Uconnect garmin in a Chrysler 300)
Hey guys, I'm having a weird problem with this map version. All my street names have dots in them. For example, "Abbey Street" would read "A.... S.....".
Anyone had a problem like this before? It's not the first time I'm installing Garmin maps, but it's the first time I'm having this problem.
I tried with tomojure's Alaska & Canada version, I've tried with fare123's PC version (send to my Zumo 550 via Mapsource send option) and the results are always the same. The Street names are fine when I view the map in MapSource. I even tried again with my older version of 2022.10 from last year but it worked as expected. I've updated my Zumo 550 last year (firmware, etc) but couldn't check for this year since I'm unable to install Garmin Express under Windows 11. I hightly doubt that it's the problem but wanted to mention it just in case.
Is there anything in the way the map are made that Garmin changed? Could it be the my Zumo 550 is not able to read properly the Street name for some obscure reason? I'm really puzzled by this!
Is this issue displayed on the maps while navigating or in the search results ?
The only thing common is both are created by Mapsource, why not try this Canada & Border States version downloaded with Garmin Express to eliminate that as an issue.

Hi!
It is like that on the map (in the Zumo 550 GPS) for all the roads.
I did try my last year version (2022.10) by opening it in MapSource and I just selected a part of the map and exported it to my device (like I usually do really) and the streets names on the map were fine, no more dots.
I'll try finding an 8 gb SD card so i can try copying directly tomojure's gmapprom.img file from the first post, without going through MapSource to see if the same problem is happening.
I uploaded this for you to test with.

Sure you are right as the last update was 10 years ago
Might be worth a reset
