Garmin Topo France v6 Pro Entire Country + Territories (DOM-TOM)

So i have 4 files,2 datas base field 1.img and 1.rar.I'm sorry i just begin in that stuff.How use gmaptool to split a . img?

@ Pilou,ok i want the north and the south on mapsource,should i decompresse them or let them be as a .rar?When i put the files on gmaptool should i join them?I try several time and i still have an error message,where is my mistake?

The 2 Maps, North and South, are not COMBINABLE because they would exceed 4GB by a lot.
There is no sense in using MapSource when you can safely view them with BaseCamp.

1. Take a removable media, such as an SD card or a USB stick, create the \Garmin folder and copy the 2 Maps into it.
2. Open BaseCamp and you will see the 2 Maps in the list on the left, double click to open them.
3. If you want to view the "Named Trails" create the \Garmin\SQL subfolder and copy the 2 .DB files (006-D1270-04.db and 006-D7235-01.db) into it

@ Firefox 58,thank you for the answer.What do you mean about Mapsource and Basecamp aren't they quite the same?
Do you mean too that i cannot have the 2 maps on mapsource and then transferWhat i need under 4GO on a sdcard?
At last,before copy the 2 mapq in a sd card,should i decompresse them or let them be as a .RAR?

i have a GPSMAP 66SR and the files TOPO V6 on SD CARD not running !!! (is writing on boot gpsmap "the map is not ..."
the old TOPO FR V5 (sud and Nord) runing on SD card (not run on basecamp)

do you help me please ?

MapSource and BaseCamp seem to be the same, but they aren't:

• MapSource doesn't open IMG Maps, ONLY MapSource version (.gmap folder).
  MapSource is Out of Service from Garmin from many years and should not to be used for producing MapSets
• BaseCamp is newer and regularly updated and manteined by Garmin
  It opens MapSource version Maps, as well as IMGs Maps (when copied in a removable device)

To transfer a MapSet you should use MapInstall (it creates MpaSets from .gmap version like MapSource, even though MapSource did it better)
An IMG Map cannot be divided, it must be used and trasfered as it is
Finally, it seems obvious to me that you have to extract the IMG file from the .RAR archive

The old TOPO FRANCE v5 has a CODE PAGE = 1252, the new TOPO FRANCE v6 has a CODE PAGE = 65001 (and needs a Patched Firmware to be read)
When BaseCamp doesn't "see" an IMG Map, it means the Map have MS Flag=1 (you shuld set it to 0 with GMapTool)

I just tested, it does not work!
I have the Topo FranceV6 north map which loads with a red bar and then it disappears from the list (no message!). on the other hand on the Gps it works correctly
