Sure, I didn't use RAR to unpack. I used a $ cat file.zip* > file.zip function (in Linux / UNIX) to concatenate and then used the unZip program to unpack however the resulting Zip was erroneous. That was working until recently.

For reference the original post contained a split Zip file zip.001 .. zip.004 containing SID/ and 37xx SID/ folders. Now we have 2 RAR files one for each. So I believe the problem was looking to be real when you stick to the displayed encoding program used. Windows stuff used to package a lot of other encoding format I believe in order to wipe out any competition. Anyway thanks for the update of the #1 original post by argentina2020.

I have a nuvi 260W that isn't recognizing these maps on an SD card in the Garmin folder. How should I proceed with it?

The following should be done:
• Go to post #1 and download 5 RAR files only:
(This is the full coverage of North America)
• After the download is complete, expand this files with the newer WinRAR.
• Rename the gmapprom file to gmapsupp
• Then copy the gmapsupp file to 4GB SD card in the folder Garmin\. If the Garmin\ folder does not exist, create it yourself manually.
P.S. That's all your nuvi 260W needs. The matter should work fine. Lots of fun. Good luck!
P.S.2 Checked with me works OK ...

The SD card must be formatted in FAT32 format and not in NTFS format, because nuvi does not recognize this.
I do not know. Maybe your nuvi doesn't see the 8GB SD card size ...
You should also make sure that the gmapsupp.img file does not have a duplicate gmapsupp.img .img , as nuvi does not recognize this.
For example: For me, it works well on an old nuvi 265W and a 4GB SD card.
