    Thank you Moderator. That was way too easy. Copy patch to sd card, boot up Garmin with sd card inserted, BAM! WORKING!

    Ok, now going to find Europe map to replace my 4 year old map from before.
    Appreciate the help!

    One more thing: one the sd card there should be 2 folders correct - Garmin and Map. In the Garmin folder I put the g2s, jcv, and sid folder. And in the Map folder I put the gnapsupp.img and the Gmap3d img. Where do I put the Parkopedia and FourSquare files?
    I found SID folder for 2450; will that work on my 2599?

    does not use 3D Building view,Parkopedia or the g2s file.All the .img files including FourSquare(D4935200A.img) go in the Map folder.The SQLite files perform better when paced in the SQLite folder on the device.

    Hello Gentlemen!
    I have a nüvi 2599. I'm set to show hidden files and yet I don't see the 'system' folder. I've tried several file managers. I'm sorry, I'm not English. Thanks for the help.

    How to set MTP-mass storage.rar
    Make NUVI .System file visible
    1. To make all of Nuvi files visible you must unhide protected files via file explorer settings
    2. Start NUVI by itself and go to Volume Screen.
    3. Press the upper right hand corner of screen for 10 seconds.
    4. The Developers Screen will pop up
    5. Scroll down to MTP SETTINGS
    6. Change from AUTO DETECT to MASS STORAGE
    7. Shut down NUVI and hookup to Computer USB cable
    8. Start NUVI and it should recognize it is hooked up to the computer.
    9. Explorer will now see all files in ROOT directory and the .System directories

    I have an Garmin Edge 800 bike computer with an 8GB memory card in it. Will it be possible for me to download and use any of the many map packages in this thread? Preferably with all of Europe but Northern Europe or Scandinavia will also be of use. As far as I can see my existing map is from 2016 and is named gmapprom.img and gmap3d.img and located in a folder named GARMIN.

    Thank you and thanks for the link. I had no idea there were different maps for car-gps and bike-gps - though using my road racer I'm preferably using the same roads as the cars anyway (except for the highways of course)

    Hi I have a Nuvi 55LM however seem to have trouble to install the Spain & Portugal map.
    I initially thought it might be because my unit does not support UNICODE however according to my GarminDevice.xml file it indicates it should support this.
    The Spain & Portugal map I download seems to be locked. When I use the gimgunlock-0.04 it will not unlock.
    Please if some one could help. Thanks
