If I can express my idea, I say that:
I understand what you say about netiquette, but when you publish a resource on the network, whatever it is, it becomes public. It is therefore useless to get angry or be surprised if the link is published in other forums, it is normal.
If one does not accept these conditions it is better not to publish at all.

I say this from personal experience, I am Super MOD on another forum (I do not say the name but many know me) and I have seen things of all the colors. My links have been published all around the world, even in China I found them, but NEVER it occurred to me to delete them.
This is my idea of netiquette, obviously different from yours

That's why I don't post much anymore. Been around these GPS forums for about two decades--many knowledgeable and resourceful contributors and sites are gone now. There are fewer major contributors that are still around nowadays. Piss off and disrespect the sources, and they'll just disappear. That's why contributors are not sharing their files as readily now. Just look at the availabilities nowadays... paltry in comparison to earlier times.

The contributors, as you call them, earn with their own links so the fact that they are distributed in different contexts returns in their favor.
I usually pee in the bathroom and I am very respectful of the work of others. That said, if you do not want to post anything, it's your decision, I can only say: pity for you.
In my part it is used to say: "dead a Pope makes a Pope and a Cardinal"

It's more simple to do than to talk about
    External microSD:
    1. get a 4 or 8GB clean microSD, formatted as FAT32
    2. Put the IMG Map named as gmapsupp.img in folder \Garmin (the Map must be UnLocked)
    3. Put the JCV File (D3191260A.jcv) in folder \Garmin\JCV
This is a SplitScreen JCV, you may see the images a little grainy in Full Screen

    Internal Device Memory:
    1. Put the IMG Map named as gmapprom.img in folder \.System (the Map must be UnLocked),
if you want to overwrite the existing one OR
Put the IMG Map named as gmapsupp.img in folder \Map if you want to add the Map as addictional one
    2. Put the JCV File (D3191260A.jcv) in folder \.System\JCV
This is a SplitScreen JCV, read above

    That's All

The method described in post 35 by Firefox should do the trick with your gps but you need to probably use the Universal firmware patcher to make it work. It can be found in the open tools and software section of this garmin forum. If you need more maps, you can check out my index that gets updated every now and then.
