I have tried moving a patched 380gcd into the system folder with unit turned but it didn't work on restart.
Should i have removed the xml file first ?
Or should i have simply edited the xml file to say SoftwareVersion 370 SoftwareVersion

Do you have problems with routing? Which Maps are you running?
BTW, putting Patched Firmware into device won't never work because of GSV protection.
You should use microSD to boot.
Tomorrow I will prepare an SD Package for you.

Hi Firefox,
Just to be clear i have previously unlocked the device using SD package with FW 4.40
The map shows up fine in my map list.
Thinking it is just latest firmware giving routing problems using thailand CN 2018.20 map

I use same map on my 200w Nuvi and all is good.

I wanted to use roll back to older firmware as user ZDMAX has reported alls good on older firmware.

Is the 380GCD file patched or not

If so is it better to copy gcd into system folder in garmin and reboot using kit on sd card or place everything on card and reboot

If you place an older release of firmware, even if Patched, this won't be loaded by device.
You must use WebUpdater to make a Downgrade, and Manual confirm this.
In my Package I forced an higher Firmware release, bypassing the above control.

Hi Firefox,
Package successfully loaded and patched 380GCD copied to system folder
All looks good, will try routing in a few weeks when back in Thailand
Thank you for your help

Will give more feedback if 380 firmware works in Drive51 using Thai CN Navigator 2018.20, good for info for anyone else

Thank you for your prompt reply.

Now my GPS can see the unlocked map and positioning correct on the map.

But I have very same problem as user Baksider about routing on the unlocked map.

I can simulating the routing (turn on GPS Simulator) on the original US Map.
But cannot simulating the routing on the unlocked Local Map.

Look like I also need to rool back to older firmware as 5.40 too.

Would you please custom another SD flask Kit to patched the firmware back to version 5.40
