Can't update Garmin Drive 40
It's like it doesn't even see downloaded map files. I downloaded 2010.10 and 2020.30 versions of gmapprom and gmapsupp of Europe map from this forum, replaced the original gmapprom version 2016.30 (according to garmin express) which was in a folder ".system" and all i get is the error. "detailed maps are required for routing. No detailed maps were found on this device" i've tried unlocking them with gimgunlock but no luck - the program seems to be working but still the same error. i've tried creating an .unl file with unlock keys but still no luck. Could someone help me? I want central europe (or even full) 2010.10 or 2020.30 locked or unlocked doesnt matter run on this device.

Requesting some help for this GPS please. I am having issues getting maps to work.
Is it possible to patch it or do something else so that unlocked maps work?

If your Device has LM account, simply use Garmin Express to update Maps.
If instead Device doesn't have any LifeTime account you should apply Patch to Firmware in order to read Unlocked Maps.

Thanks for the answers, Unfortunately it seems it's not the case with this unit. Garmin Express gives me the option to buy the latest map, not to upgrade. Thanks for pointing me out to the SD Package. I will try it out. I always thought that with most garmin devices you only need to download unlocked map (or unlock them by yourself) and replace the original map. but it's not the case with newer models?

Your device does NOT require patching to use Unlocked maps.
