Help Garmin Nuvi 3760 won't connect to computer

    HI,
I corrupted my files on my Garmin Nuvi 3760 (USA) and now my computer complains of the device not being recognized. Garmin Express nor WebUpdater are recognizing my GPS. How can I put my Garmin into a mode that would force it to be recognized by the Webupdater, when I cklick "Find Devices"?

Back Story, how I corrupted it. I connected my Garmin to my work computer to move over new map file. My work computer needed to encrypt the garmin file structure in order to add files to it. Bit Locker encrypted it. I moved over the new map file and disconnected. The Garmin starts up but didn't show any map files loaded. I believe I may have needed to decrypt the garmin before disconnecting. Now when I connect to my work computer or any computer, it is not recogniged. I attempted to clear data by pressing the bottom right and power. I was promptd to clear data, I chose it and now I'm at a "Select a Locale" screen with an OK button, but there are no Locales listed to select, so I cannot do anything from that point. I cannot cancel or move forward. In the past, I believe I did something to get the WebUpdater to find my GPS after being corrupted, but I forgot what I did. Please help, I am in IT but I cannot find solutions online. I believe some sort of button pressing combination during startup, before the file corruption is loaded, while connected to my computer, should force the Webupdater to recognize the GPS and update the file system. Please Help. Thank You.

I had a similar problem with my 2595. I downloaded the latest usb drivers from Garmin and installed them on my PC. I then ran Garmin Express and Express updated the files on the 2595. Worth a try. Good Luck.

Firstly thank you for giving the full details "Back Storey"
It appears that the FW is intact as the device boots and gives options to choose a locale.(Bit Locker wasn't able to encrypt) but the other files have been encrypted so the device cannot access them, your PC can't recognise it either for the same reason.

    I'm not familiar with

but there should be a way to undo the encryption (

The USB drivers on two PC's should have not changed simultaneously but no harm trying a reinstall.

The tool you mention is most probably Cure3

    Thank you.
What is the advice here? reinstalling USB Drivers? The UBS port works fine with my speaker and was working fine with my GPS, until I encrypted the files. You think that I could have corrupted the USB port? If I can connect the GPS to my computer, I can decrypt the files. Nuvi devices don't need special USB drives to speak to windows, they work with the windows UBS drivers. I did not use cure now. Are you suggesting that?

    Hi,

If your Garmin start up you can change the device connection type.
Go to volume menu and by pressing long on the upper right corner,
the "Diagnostics Page" should show up then,
in "Configuration & Settings" look for "MTP Settings",
    then change to mass storage.

    Hope this could help you!

    Regards.
