Question Regarding eTrex30x Maps
I have the above mentioned device (from Costco). Until this most recent software update from Garmin, I could load unlock maps onto it. Now, it tells me that it cannot authenticate the maps and to contact the reseller. I CAN load my older, never locked National Park TOPO maps onto it and those seem to work fine. Which is really all that I need for my hiking trip. But, I would have liked to have been able to have it as a backup device to my other Garmin and have the US City Navigator maps on it as well. Can anyone explain what that error indicates and how to fix it. By the way, I get that error whether I load the maps directly onto the device via USB or onto the microSD card via Garmin Mapsource. Any help is greatly appreciated. We have a six week trip to Montana and Wyoming coming up and I would love to have this thing working before we leave next week. Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Try NT maps, not NTU maps, you still have to unlock the map, of course!

The latest update is from February 19, 2019 eTrex20x_30x_Webupdater__300.gcd ,HWID 2250
What is the source of the US City Navigator maps that give you the error ?
This has a patch for your device, but fully Unlocked should work without Patching
Try either of these small 40Mb maps to test
This will allow us to see what's going on by elimination, you may have used an older map unlock tool ,use the latest including Map Signature fix

Thanks. The Wyoming/Montana map seems to be a bad link. But, I downloaded the DFW area and am about to try it. I will post an update shortly. Interesting that all of my unlocked maps used to work on this device prior to this latest "software" update from Garmin.

Thank you so much for the help. I don't understand why it wasn't working with my MapSource maps that were already showing "Not Lockable". But, I built another mapset, including the states that we are going to be driving through AND the older US National Park TOPO maps. Then I ran that .img through the unlocker and it works. I would have thought that if it was already unlocked, it would work, but apparently, I need to take that extra step. Thanks for helping out. Now I know how to load regular maps onto this device. I appreciate all of the help!

Make a back up before you start.
Removing the SD card from the deice will show you what is on the device by elimination (no longer shown on the device)
What are you trying to do ?
What do you mean BC file ,British Columbia??
Use to see .img file contents or for a more user friendly view
