    in my Garmin DriveSmart 51, the Restricted Mode option under Navigation is not available. i can't remove restricted mode.

    AH ok, you mean this option, CAN YOU SELECT IT ? or how is it on your Garmin ?



    to solve try like this:
    go to Settings/Device/Reset and try ResetDefault Settings , then press YES and then return to the same menu and do this:
    Settings/Device/Reset and try Delete Data/Reset and then press YES
    TELL ME IF IT GO WELL !

    try also this other 3 different solutions :
    1. press volume icon on Garmin, then press the top right corner of the display, still in the volume adjustment screen

    or also you can change your Garmin DriveSmart 51 into a dezl 580, so then probably you can have the funcion "restriction mode" unlocked

    LAST THING is to change software to your Garmin Drivesmart 51, as we change it into dezl 580 then probably you'll have it unlocked ..if you watn to do it i need that you open the file garmindevice.xml that is into Garmin folder inside your Garmin, open it using google or explorer or notepad or file text... and post here this line:


    <PartNumber>006-B2xxx-00</PartNumber>

    <SoftwareVersion>770</SoftwareVersion>


    <Description>Drivesmart 51</Description>

    then i can do patch for you , and we try it
