Default Lane Assist in CN_NT_EU gmapprom.img?

    Hi All,
I have a Garmin 3590ltm, Americas version, to use driving in Europe. The CN_EU_2019.10 and 2018.30 gmapprom.img on SD card display maps OK in offline mode as a test. Will the CN_EU_gmapprom.img on the SD cards provide lane assist and voice assist while driving, or is another file required? The lane assist and voice are almost essential for me. The lane assist appears on the 3590 while driving in the USA.

The file CN EU 2019.10 D3084220A.jcv is in the SD card folder /Garmin/JCV/ folder, but don't have any way to test.

For voice recognition you will need the correct ASR file associated with the map. From memory for 3590 you'll need the complete mapping for EU and the corresponding ASR2 file.

As for 'lane assist', it depends what you're referring to. The LA feature which shows in the top LH corner for an upcoming turn or exit when navigating is from mapping data. The Junction View Lane Assistance (JCV) which shows the signage and road view as a splitscreen image with the map is from a specific *.jcv file which is associated with the particular map version.

You must get the correct map version-specific files in both cases otherwise the ASR and/or JCV functions won't work.

Yes you actually do have a way to test. Put the device into Simulation mode (in 3590 that's Settings > Navigation and check "GPS Simulation") then set your location in a major European city, route to another major city which will use freeways/expressways and scroll thru the route by tapping the top LH corner then hit the down arrow every couple of seconds giving it a chance to show a junction view pic if available. London to Manchester will show several for example. I haven't checked if you've got the right map and JCV file by the way, the OEM map for EU 3590 is the NTU (Unicode) map. I'm not sure that ASR2 is available for the 'non-unicode' NT either.
