Using your HWID 2588 in the "Search Thread" finds what you cannot locate
Answered for you
Hi there,
I have EchoMAP Plus 72sv (HWID 2809)
Here's the content of GarminDevice.xml:
Can I just use the files from "EchoMAP plus & UHD v13.30-16.10 Patched.rar" from post ?
Do I need to update to original v13.30 first or just flash the patched v13.30?
Thanks
I got this device:
HWID = 1697
Firmware = 560
gmapsupp
NTU maps
I tried the SD Card patch on post 140
How I can I be sure it is patched? And can somebody point me to a tutorial on how to update the maps? Current one is Western Europe from 2014
The Link you pointed to is to be used as Tutorial of How To Apply the Patch using an SD Package, NOT to download SD Package itsself (different HWID)
The correct SD Package for your Device (Nuvi 53/55/56) is
:lol:
Your device Serial # 3A60093xx has Lifetime FREE map updates for Western Europe ,if this is all you want use Garmin Express to update it.
Patching a device is to enable it to use unlocked maps, so try using an unlocked map ,you device will let you know, but 154.bin file is created as part of the Patching process
Garmin Express did not show this to me at first. Now the update does show. But it does not fit on the internal memory.
What I actually wanted to do is add the map of turkey. I got the file gmapsupp but I dont know what to do with it. I cant access the .system folder.
Do I need to boot in like a developer mode or something?
Garmin Express gave you an option to use an SD card, that is recommended.
I recommend adding any supplemental files (gmapsupp.img) to the SD card, if you add files to the device storage and there is any file corruption it is hard to recover the device, but very easy to unplug an SD card & start again.
