Smile Threads for discussion about filehosts and multihost download service

I am wondering if it is possible to have to threads about these two issues.

The first thread would be something like which filehosts we should use on this
site, potential problems with different filehosters. I know that zippyfiles are
banned in some places. Users on this site should share information about
potential good filehosters. Which ones are good, free, how does downloading work
if you are anonymous user etc. How much storage space do you get, do you need
    to register a account etc.

I then want another thread for talking about multihost download services, which one
work and are good, and other issues. I can not find any information anywhere online
about these things. Or the information is old and could also be fake because you do
not know if someone has posted the information from own experience.

I think we could put them here.

I think it's entirely up to the individual who has spent his/her time uploading and then sharing the links as to where they upload them and not for anyone else to suggest or dictate where the upload them.
The great thing about an "open policy" like this is that many of our regulars have their own favourite so we normally get a multiple choice of where to download them from based on our own preferences.

biggerdave, true. I do not want to force anyone to use a specific service but I would rather gather information about what services are good etc based on personal experience and use of the service.

But I do not know, there seems to be little activity on this forum, I think I will try on another forum instead.

For example FireFox58 gave me this information. Thanks for reply.

    There are many, ie:

    • MEGA (maybe the best)
    • DosyaUpload (frequently used on Forum)
    • BayFiles (Anonimous at all)
    • AnonFiles (even if recently has be banned too)
    • some others ...

The Hosts, in my opinion, not to use are:

    • ZippyShare (for the reason above)
    • Upload.to (is a nightmere in downloading)
    • EasyBytez & Share-Online (run well only with Premium accounts

Upload, to is one of the best in terms of download speed, only, as I have often done,
you will have to spend a little money on it, only the sun rises every day for free.
And I have serious doubts whether that is really true at all.

Well, I do not mind having to pay for a service, my main concern is how the service works for anonymous users wanting to download files. Mega.nz seems like a great option. A lot of services limit download speeds and that is a big problem in my view as you want good speeds when downloading. Too many times have I started a download on another computer, checked back after 3-4h and the download has failed. As long as you get super fast speeds on downloads but have to wait for a long time for the next download, that service is OK in my view.

I have found two other services that works OK. Fast speeds but with waiting times.

My experience with upload.to is very good in terms of download speed.
When I was still using it and new maps were available, I took out a 1-month subscription and had everything received within 2 to 3 days.
Sometimes there were up to 40 connections at the same time without it crashing, but the total speed was distributed slightly lower over all those connections.
I have no experience with the other

Aha, yes this is probably the reason for this thread so that the users here can build up some sort of list of good sites. That uptobox seems great and faster than mega.nz but from what I understand you do not have to wait when downloading one file after the other, and speeds are OK. And even if you stick to a free registered account with limited space it is usable compared to other hosting sites.

It is hard to find a good host, everything got bad after megaupload was shut down by USA and they started hunting file hosting
The main issue for me is that anonymous users must have the ability to download files at fast speeds.

Seems these are popular but I do not like them, they are not good for anonymous users. And when you compare to other hosts they do not seem good at all. Perhaps the popularity is more based on functions, that you can automate stuff etc.

I have always paid for the account by mobile phone
You will receive an email well before the end of the period for which you have paid.
It is also possible to choose 24 hours.
There is then no restriction whatsoever except for the free of ports.
Without paying, the speed is considerably lower and 1 file per 90 minutes

pa1agp, yes that is true. Even if you have to wait between downloads as a anonymous users, it is still much better compared to sites that limit your download speed. To often you end up with long download times and broken downloads. These sites are not that reliable unless you pay for access, but it still does not resolve the issue for anonymouse downloads.

I might switch to uptobox in the future, that site has great value for money. If you compare rapidgator, nitroflare, uploaded etc. they all limit download speeds for anonymous users. But it would be nice with some sort of compiled list where you have top20 sites that users should look at first for filesharing.

I find that it is by personal use of sites you gain knowledge of which ones are good. Often they claim this and that but it turns out that is often not the case and you end up paying for something that you did not want in the first place.

Anyone else have sites I should look at that you think are good ?

Ok, a update to this thread.

I have not moved away from mega.nz even though the service was "OK" it just does not have the free storage space needed to host a decent amount of data. It is similar to Google drive.

You only get 15Gb of space, you do get more space for a new account but that is time limited. If you buy premium it is much more expensive compare to a lot of other alternative. At least for just hosting files here on the site. It might be good for personal use ?

Anyone looking for a decent host I would recommend

    uptobox.com

If you register a free account you get plenty of storage space, no practical limitations on the size of uploaded .rar or .zip file, 90 days before files are deleted if untouched (not downloaded by a anonymous users).

Good for anonymous users, fast download speeds, only 60min of waiting time between downloads.
