    From TT discussions:-

    Hi All,

Yesterday we released a minor update to TomTom HOME. This new release contains no new functionality, only a bug fix for an issue with downloading maps for the Fiat Uconnect.

@justbrowsing: You can just reinstall the HOME application on you PC (Make sure to delete the temp files while installing the new version) See here:

    Cheers,

So it's hardly a "critical" update!

....and apparently ALREADY withdrawn as it is not now being offered if you try to "Check for HOME update" !!!

Thought I would add some useful information for anyone who experiences TT Home reporting an error when downloading the file needed to operate their tomtom. This happened to me repeatedly when I installed SE 9.500 and 9.510 NC's on my TT One (I have several of these and various SD's). I had just solved the Home updating problem by using this thread and I thought the error was another way of blocking things.

Anyway, when I looked in Appdata/Roaming/HOME/Profiles?xxxx.default/extensions I found a folder "staged-xpis" in that folder were 2 large .xpi files. Google told me that .xpi is another name for .zip files. Sure enough, when I changed the .xpi extension to .zip I could unpack them and out came all the files needed to run the "operate my Tomtom" emulation. They just needed to be put in a folder named using the same naming convention as the others ie Navcore.9.500.xxxxxxx@tomtom.com and Navcore.9.510.xxxxxxx@tomtom.com (last digits hidden in case they identify) and patched with fast activate. Now Home will let me operate my TT Ones and save mapsettings.cfg settings, especially speed camera warnings from one map to the next.

I don't know if the problem described above is a common one or just a random difficulty with my setup but I hope this information may be helpful to anyone else having the difficulty

I am really pleased you have posted this. A lot of us have many TT units and we work on. I currently use the GO5200, and have a GO5100 as its younger brother and currently no other units, but many as SD Cards as emulators for other units and use Home for them. Mostly to update for those with the older units. Just done two this evening GO720. Its only a matter of replacing their old Cards for the new updated ones. They are not bothered about updating the ZIP files but I can email them if they want.
Many have GPS in their cars now, but if abroad and hire car, not all have them

Really glad you did post this though, because I am sure it will be of benefit to many users.....and it does work. When using Home, do not back up though if using several Cards/units BIG MISTAKE if you do
One day, someone might make things work perfectly before release. Sadly not in my or your lifetime. At least by finding problems and sorting them, we are still alive.

Yea ..... be wary of it. The mapshare status indicator does not work on mine. I've checked the extension settings and it states that this add on cannot be used with the current version of Home that is installed. I've checked for an update to the add on but no joy yet. Funny thing is that when you check for Home themes the same message is stated. Wish they'd test things properly before they release them.

Don't be ridiculous Ade, we're talking TomTom here after all who NEVER test things prior to release; that's what us poor punters/customers are expected to do
