Have no fear Dave, you will continue to get updates to your subscriptions.

I was able to check it for myself.
You can go on vacation and on your return, oh! Miracle, everything will work as expected.

PS you do not have a new account, you just changed the original account to which the subscriptions are attached.

I believe that the map update is subject to the serial number.
I have several ttgo of several computers with active old downloads and it does not matter what e-mail is registered in TTnome, it always shows the download. Even with emails invented as "youdonotcare@mymail.com"
I can not assure that I will give the next update but I suspect that it is, as long as the GPS has an active subscription.
If you are stolen the gps will also steal your subscription unless you report it in TT.
For the next 995 I can prove it.

Exactly right Orni. Map subscriptions ARE locked to a single device/serial number and could possibly only be transferred to another device by TT themselves if you can prove to them that the original device has been broken or stolen. Also I agree you can change account login/owner/email/password details etc without losing anything too.

I do not want to polemic, but read this help excerpt from TThome2

Help Tab / Help Topics / Help for TomTom HOME / Getting Started with TomTom HOME / Updating your device account association

    Tell me what you understand.

    Update your device-account combination

If you connect an "unknown" TomTom navigation device to HOME that is not linked to the
TomTom account you are logged in with, you are asked to update your device-account
combination. This can happen if you own more than one navigation device or connect a device to
your computer that belongs to someone else such as a friend, or a family member.

A message appears which says The device that is connected to your computer is not linked
to the TomTom account you are logged in with
. This is because only ONE device can be
linked to each MyTomTom account at a time.

Note: If you own more than one navigation device, we recommend you create a
separate MyTomTom account for each one.

There are various options for you to choose from at this point depending on your situation.

1.To start using the other device that you own, you need to login with the account that is linked
to that device and choose Log in with a different TomTom account. If you need to create a
new account for the currently connected device, choose Log in with a different TomTom
    account
    .

2.If you have several devices connected to your computer and have selected the wrong device,
    choose Switch connected devices.

3.If you own one device but for some reason, need to occasionally connect another one, you
    need to take care.

Warning: If you choose Link the new device to your TomTom account, this
action cannot be undone and any services you may have (eg. traffic, downloadable
    maps etc
    .
) are transferred to this newly linked device and you will NOT be able to
    use
your services with your other device any more! Also you can only change the
device linked to your account ONCE every six months so you cannot change your
device back again quickly if you realise you've made a mistake.

In this situation, we recommend you create a new account for the device, even if it is only
occasionally connected to your computer. This will avoid you accidentally transferring your
    services to it.

Tip: If you choose Link the new device to your TomTom account, HOME gives
you a warning to make sure your choice was intentional.

4.If you own one device but have purchased a newer model and you won't be using your old
device any more, choose Link the new device to your TomTom account. This is fine in this
situation because you DO want all your services to be transferred to your new device on a
permanent basis and you won't be changing back to your old device.

Good stuff jpgblue but even TT don't actually clarify things very well regarding map subscriptions as opposed to other "services" like speedcams etc. Any new (future) maps you have paid for (subscribed to) will NOT be moved to another device unless stolen/broken etc as I say in post #13 above.
An example would be you want to switch to/register an x40 device from your current/old One XL which has 12 months map updates still to run. You can indeed link the new device to your account/login/password etc but will NOT get the XL's map updates which will remain allocated/linked to that old XL.
I would blame the Dutch but probably not here

NO especially not, too precious to lose them (the maps).
But difficult to find the right answer by TT same.

I propose a thing, jpgblue (if you trust me), I think you have a 990 map download, please pass your private serial number to me and I will show you an image that will show that I can access the download of your map without your email address .

I will register the account with the email yourserial@noimporta.com

You can also try it on another pc.

No problem for trust, I PM you the ttgo.bif.

This is just for my personal culture but also find a solution.
Without going through the hotline, do you have a solution to prevent the thief from using the subscription and can be block it for me (us)?

    To win! Congratulations Orni!

Now, to connect to TThome, I have to link my GO 940 to my TT account.
If you refer to the leaflet, I will not be able to do it again before 6 months.
Not reassuring all that. My subscription runs until the end 2018.

Well, let's hope that my thief does not know how to do what you have done.
